XPW began its media blitz last night with local ad promos for its July 31 card in Reseda airing on WWF's Sunday Night Heat. Ads continue tonight on Raw and Nitro. XPW also made the pages this week of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the game's number one tipsheet.
Jasmin St. Claire was scheduled to appear as the hostess for Metalfest later this month, but, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, legal action, through no fault of St. Claire's, threatens to close the event. Metalfest promoter Jack Koshick, who says he's invested $100,000 in the concert says the cancellation would ruin him.
Lawyers for Metalfest promoter Koshick told a Dane County Wisconson judge on Friday that Koshick would face financial ruin if the state does not allow his rock concert at State Fair Park on July 30-31 in West Allis.
"If this collapses, he's pretty much through. He's in terrible, terrible trouble," said Frank Campenni, a Milwaukee attorney who said Koshick had a verbal agreement with the state to lease State Fair Park.
But Assistant Attorney General Monica Burkert-Brist urged Circuit Judge Gerald Nichol to dismiss Koshick's lawsuit. She said Koshick should seek damages from the state Claims Board if he believed there was a breach of contract.
Judge Nichol set another hearing today on Koshick's request for a temporary injunction against the state. Koshick's attorneys sought a ruling Friday but agreed to the delay to allow Nichol more time to review that matter.
Campenni and Jeffrey Berlin, another Milwaukee attorney for Koshick, stressed that time was critical. They said Koshick's hopes of staging a successful concert at State Fair Park dwindled each day Metalfest is in doubt.
Koshick said that State Park Director Richard Bjorklund told him June 29 that he could not go through with Metalfest as planned, offered his apologies but gave no explanation.
Koshick and his attorneys said they learned from a newspaper story that Gov. Tommy G. Thompson's top aide, Administration Secretary Mark Bugher, moved to block the State Fair Park site.
Bugher, apparently, was horrified to learn bands with names like Anal Blast, Cradle of Filth and Internal Bleeding would perform. Porn film stars and professional wrestlers also were to be featured at the heavy-metal festival that would run into the early morning hours of Aug. 1, allowing only four days to prepare for the annual State Fair.
Koshick said that about 3,000 tickets have been sold, $32 for a single-day pass and $54 for both days. He said Metalfest was on course to sell as many as 10,000 tickets when the trouble began, and segments were to be broadcast on MTV Europe and cable pay-per-view channels, he said.
"I'm the originator of Metalfest," Koshick said. "This is our 13th year. We've done 13 Metalfests, each of them without incident. No arrests, no violence."
Koshick said that until this year, Metalfest was held at the Eagles Club in Milwaukee, except for one year when it was staged at the Milwaukee Arena. In March, he put on a Metalfest concert in Asbury Park, N.J., and had plans for one this fall in San Antonio, Texas, and next year in Los Angeles.
He said several bands involved were "being very supportive," he said.
"They feel that their rights are being trampled on and that we're making a stand. I mean, nobody should be able to tell somebody how to dress, how to live or how to do anything. If they don't like it, then they don't have to go."
Jasmin St. Claire comments: "I usually host this event. Jack Koshick has me host these shows, up to three a year. There's the May Metal Mayhem in San Bernardino, March Metal Meltdown and this. But they're having a problem with the venue because of names of certain bands. This is the first time he's ever had problems in 12 years with that show. It's a bunch of things. We didn't have this problem at the March Metal Meltdown. We thought that one was going to be the total nightmare because it was the first year, but it turned out better than ever.
He might just go over to Alpine Valley. [About a 40 minute drive from Milwaukee.] But I hope he gets it back. Jack is a good guy and he tries really hard. I'm 90 % sure that show's still going on. I did phone interviews this past week when I was in Miami. I can't believe this bullshit they're doing to him."
St. Claire said she was going to be beeped via live satellite in order to put in an appearance at the XPW show at the Reseda Country Club. "I'll be there definitely August 27."
Mike Albo writes: "Gene: You know, the weekend rolls around and I put all this porno stuff on the back burner - sort of like what I do every day at 5:30 when the work day is over. Wasn't able to that this weekend. I received a phone call from Dr. Andre Labinger, one of my former colleagues at the University of LaVerne. It seems that the good doctor has received an e-mail from one Mr. Luke Ford who wanted to know if it were true that I had, indeed, worked at ULV (as I've said ad nauseam in the past). Although, I didn't see the e-mail, Dr. Labinger expressed some concerns about it's author. The words "crackpot" and "stalker" were used. Luke, it seems, is not being exactly forthright with Dr. Labinger, claiming he needs verification of my employment history for-get this-an "article" he's writing about me.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but has Luke ever written an article anywhere? Those lame-ass attempts at "satire" hardly qualify, and other than his poorly written and abysmally researched book, I don't think I've ever seen him in print. In fact, the only place I've seen his writing is on his own web site. That in itself speaks volumes as to how much value the rest of the world places upon his writing-if one can call what he does writing. Anyway, like I've hypothesized before, Lyin' Luke is miffed because we here at HEVG had the audacity to critique his book. Now, like the little bitch that he is, he seeks to discredit me. Too bad my friends at ULV will verify that I truly did teach there (although once this is established Luke and his moron supporters will undoubtedly try to save face by casting aspersions on ULV-hey, it's not Harvard). The point of all this? None except to say that I don't like it when people lie to my friends. I like it even less when they make my friends uncomfortable by pretending to be something they're not. Luke, be advised that I'm gonna break your nose when I see you.
Hunter, husband of Melanie Stone writes: "Hi Gene, Well now I know why Mark Davis gets the big bucks, he is a professional. I am sitting in my office wondering why the fuck Devin, yes the guy Devin, has flaked on Melanie and I. I have eight (8), yes eight, round trip tickets to Santa Barbara for the day, and three (3) VIP private suites on Amtrak. I am sitting on the phone with Amtrak while I am typing this e-mail to you. Amtrak is telling me that I am unable to get any type of refund, because I am not giving them 24 hour notice of the change or cancellation, da, I had this asshole Devin fuck me over this morning, but I cannot tell them this.
"I am writing you this e-mail just to let other directors and produces know that Devin is a complete asshole and a very unprofessional person, as I have spent $1,420.00 on these tickets and rooms, and now Amtrak has just told me that I am unable to get any kind of refund. I have gone out of my way to get this broke dipshit work. Melanie and I first met Devin last year and recommended him for a shoot that Melanie was doing for Shane. We are shooting Melanie's new series now, "The Sexual Adventures of Melanie Stone", and as most people know Melanie is very particular about the guys that she will do anal with, so we called Devin for this shoot. I had a boy/girl scene in a train and two scenes to do at a lake, but the lake shoot was going to be next month, so I told Devin that it was up to him if he wanted to wait and take the two scenes at the lake, or he could do the one scene on the train.
"Devin told me that he needed the money badly so he could move into his own apartment, so he took the train scene. I spoke with Devin Saturday night at 10:00pm and he assured me that he not only would not be late, but he would be early, and that I knew him and he was a professional. I hope that people in the industry read this and take note of this guy, this has cost Melanie and I a lot of money and time, we have just started shooting her new series and we do not have this kind of money to be wasting. Can you please post this on your site, so everyone knows about this guy. \n Thank you, Hunter.
This is what Hunter had to say in a follow-up interview.
Hunter: "Devin I think is Lene Hefner's ex-husband. He just came back into the business about two or three months ago. He's been around asking for work, and I got him some work when I was working with Metro. And I got him some work for Melanie when he was working for Shane. He called me again and I said I would put him in Melanie's series. You don't understand. He just burned me hard Sunday. I'm stuck with $1420 worth of Amtrak tickets I can't use.
"We were going from Los Angeles to Santa Barbara. We had VIP rooms. You have to buy not only track tickets but pay for a VIP room on top of it. We were just shooting one scene on the way up. But seven o'clock on a Sunday morning you can't really pick up the phone and call people. Plus we had to get on the train at 8: 30. If it was a studio I'd be pissed, but I'd call some other talent and it would be the end of it. But, especially when I called the guy the night before and he promised me that he wouldn't be late. He said I wouldn't have to worry about him. I tried calling the guy five times yesterday morning and called him throughout the day. I think he's staying with Buck Adams.
"I was lucky to catch my cameraman Jim DiGiorgio right before he was walking out the door. I said, hold on, don't go to Amtrak yet. He's [Devin] done this to some other people, and that's why I was really reluctant to hire him.
"I called Mark Davis and asked him if he'd do this scene for me. He said it's a long day, and I don't know if I want to go on a train. I said that's fine I'll get somebody else. Then Mark called me later in the day saying he felt so bad he should have come. Luckily my cameraman doesn't charge me a kill fee. Luckily it was Melanie because it was her sereies. If it was other talent, I'd be paying a kill fee on her, too. I'm so sick of talent doing crap like this. They're making so much in the business. Devin told me he needed the money, that he was moving out of Buck's place and needed a place of his own. I was trying to help the guy out."
BAILEY MONTAINE SWEARS XXX ALLEGIANCE TO THOMAS ZUPKO & APOCALYPSE PRODUCTIONS
Glamour girl Bailey Montaine, a feature dancer from Phoenix, Arizona, has just signed an exclusive contract with Apocalypse Productions, the controversial Las Vegas based filmmakers who recently joined The Evil Empire. "Tom is the coolest motherfucker in the world," Montaine says proudly.
"I've had a lot of offers from other companies, but I only want to work for Apocalypse. Tom's imagination and creativity is limitless and he's the most straight-up guy I ever met. I don't think there's a dishonest bone in his body."
Zupko laughs at Montaine's remarks by admitting that he's "highly overrated."
"Hey," the deranged director grins, "I certainly don't deserve all this praise being heaped upon me because, as we all know, everything in life is subjective and temporal, especially when it comes to this business. This is even more dramatic when it comes to relationships in this business, be they personal, professional, or otherwise. Read between the lines on that one."
Montaine, who says that she's also been offered numerous mainstream projects, including several rock videos, gushes over Zupko's artistic passion. "His insights on life and sex are incredible. He's like this longhaired, unkempt, perverted overweight freak who's been living in the mountains for twenty years and finally decided to descend and bless the world with his insane erotic vision. He's a pain in the ass, demanding-it took twelve fucking hours to shoot my scene, with Tom insisting on capturing every camera angle known to man---hard as fuck to deal with, impulsive, temperamental, argumentative, a sexual deviant…but I love him to death."
Zupko says that Montaine is a bone-a-fide superstar. "This fucking girl is like a Michaelangelo painting come to life." he boasts. "She is so fucking perfect and, as hypnotizingly beautiful as she is in person, multiply that by ten in the eye of the camera: she fucking photographs like a motherfucking angel. It's like Cindy Crawford or Laetitia Casta doing hardcore. And Bailey's willing to do whatever I ask her to. Trust me, this is the fucking real thing without all the emotional, financial, and sexual delusions. Bailey Montaine is my gift to all the porn fans across America, of which I consider myself to be in the top ten.
And, during CES, I will throw a Las Vegas party for all the Apocalypse/Evil Angel fans across America which will make Sodom and Gomorah look like a motherfucking Sunday Afternoon church social. To all the fans out there, you are my brothers."
Apocalypse plans on releasing three movies with Montaine (all-anal) in the next four months and promoting her, in Zupko's words, "like the Jesuits spreading the word of Christ to the heathen barbarians in the wilderness."
Zupko insists that Bailey's debut performance (in Pussy Crimes, to be released by The Evil Empire August 18th) will lay the foundation of her superstar status.
"I can't even tell you about my scene in Pussy Crimes-you have to see it to believe it." Montaine says breathlessly. "I take it hard in the ass, get drenched in oil, and have things done to me I would never even do in my personal life. Tom is persuasive, I must admit." Zupko says that his next movie after Pussy Crimes will feature "four of the newest and hottest, Cosmopolitan-gorgeous girls, all taking it in the ass in some of the wildest and most shocking settings ever seen in smut."
"I want the fan to think and get his dick hard and then say fuck you to the world." Zupko explains. "Fuck it man, I'm alive now and fuck you if you feel you have the right to tell me what I can say, hear, say, watch, or even think. It's all about pussy, man, and being who you want to be when you want to be it. Peace."
Kid Vegas calls in : "I'm going to gave a drug-fest weekend in San Diego, probably going to shoot with some of my buddies down there. Anyway, I was reading this stuff about Marc Star. Sounds like that Brick Majors needs to be black-listed. He's black-listed in my book, he won't work for my company, ever. And he won't work for a couple of other companies I work with, too. Marc Star's a great guy, and I think it's a punk-ass shit thing to do when he was defending the rights of his brother. If Luke Ford's going to continue to talk that shit about his brother, than I guess that's what he deserves. I don't think Brick Majors should have got involved with that shit because it's none of his fucking business. That....better leave fucking Marc Star alone or Kid Vegas is going to have to deal with him. Peace to all my fans. Superstar is coming out on the 2nd.

Alisha Klass was swathed in pink [a very, very short mini dress and matching gloves] as she ran around the Vivid set of Where the Boys Aren't Part 13 last week. Klass, obviously, wasn't one of the boys, but she was doing her reportorial chores for the upcoming Pink Television show which is scheduled to air nationally in August. Klass was busy interviewing all the Vivid girls, including Sky who's just come aboard.
The show's associate producer Shaun Dettloff has this to say: "Pink Television shows behind the scenes of the adult industry. Misty Rain is our host and Alisha Klass is our co-host. We'll show the interesting people and the pleasant side of the adult industry. We'll show the positive side, what people don't see. It's going to be a half hour show weekly. It's coming out in August. We're in negotiations with a major network, I can't say which one it is, but it will be on national TV.
Klass: "I won't always be wearing this pink outfit. So far, I've worn a pink catsuit which I wore to the Summer Expo. I also had a pink evening gown on for Night of the Stars."
G.Ross: "I hope you have a good run with the show otherwise you're going to be stuck with a lot of pink outfits."
Klass: "Actually Pink Television is paying for it, and it's a great thing for me. I just keep all the outfits...I got so many compliments on the pink catsuit outfit."
G. Ross: "It looks like you're going to get some good scoops."
Klass: "I'm really excited. This is basically one of the goals I wanted to achieve in mainstream by having my own show. I wanted to host my own sex talk show on HBO or something. I feel this is my specialty. In my movies for Seymore I improvise everything. It's very easy for me to keep the party going so to speak. I love to be on camera, so it's the perfect job for me. I hope to bring some class to the show so that mainstream people accept it and it's not trashy. They're having on-site reporters and Misty and myself will be covering the big events like Cannes and CES and the AVN awards show. But most of the time we'll be in the studio putting everything together. I know they're going to have Felecia doing on-site. It's going to be really interesting. From what I've seen that they put together so far, it looks like it's going to be a great show."
[Klass will be signing at Hustler Hollywood on August 14. Klass notes that's she'll be on Hoop Life this Sunday and July 25 on Showtime at 10 pm. She says she will also start feature dancing in the not-too-distant future.]
Klass: "I have a million things going on. It's really neat for me doing this. Working only for Seymore Butts, I don't get to see what really goes on. Now I'll see how it all really works and how other people make movies. By interviewing the stars at the Summer Expo, I got to see how much knowledge I really did have about everybody. It is an education. I'm going to start reading your website more. We're going to be covering all the different types of things that we can. I'm very excited. People have no real education about the adult industry, and I was a great example of that when I first met Seymore. It's interesting for me to be in this position to draw things from girls so they can understand more about the business. It's not just this girl was molested, she's a slut and has nothing better to do. So there's so many great people like Janine in the business who are smart and love sex and think it's okay.
G. Ross: "I'm dying to ask you this. When you were on Howard Stern last year you got bleeped unmercifully."
Klass: "You wrote Alisha Klass potty-mouth."
G. Ross: "I would never use the term potty-mouth, I'm more clever than that."
Klass: "This is the thing with Howard. It was me, Felecia and this girl from the Spice Channel. We were there to promote the porn week in Mexico. It turned into to be the Alisha Klass half-hour. He asked the other girls were you molested, no. He asked me. Yes, Howard I was. Who molested you? You know, Howard, I have my degree in fashion designing. You have other things to talk about. There's three girls here. You ask everybody the same question, please, be a little more creative. I was challenging Howard. He kept asking who molested me. I tried avoiding it not wanting to hurt my family. Finally I said, Howard, my father is dead. He said how did he die. I said you really want to know? Well, my father shot my mother and killed himself when I was two. Dead silence on Howard. I said, Howard, aren't you glad you asked? He's like wow. I said, Howard, you should be my father. Toward the end of the interview he made a comment, if I was your father I'd kill myself, too. I said, Howard, I'm being honest with you about my life."
G. Ross: "Did you two have a real tension going on?"
Klass: "Our personalites are somewhat similar. I say abrupt things, and I really don't give a fuck. But I've cleaned up my act and my mouth. I try now to speak classy and cool and have a nicer image."
G. Ross: "What were they bleeping?"
Klass: "He wouldn't let me say anything. He says 'ass' all the time. I wanted to talk about squirting and said female ejaculation. He's like, no, we're not talking about that! I said Howard I'm speaking in medical terms. I'm educated. I can say it in a non-naughty way. He wouldn't let me. We were talking about his penis, and we know his penis is big because XXX says he... XXX for sure. So we were teasing him about that. I told him I wanted to make his wife squirt. We were pushing his buttons. I said Howard you're all talk, why don't you come over here and XXX my XXX. It was bleep bleep bleep. He said Alisha asked me to come over and use my tongue for toilet paper. 'I'm not into that.'
"I was wearing this leather skirt, I lifted the flap up and spread my ass. I said, Howard, this is the cleanest ass you're ever going to see. He kept bleeping me. I wasn't really doing anything. He was just putting his little trauma act on. As soon as the camera went off, he was the nicest guy. He shook my hand. I fixed his hair because it was stuck on the headset. We were taking pictures and I was still naked. I was hugging him and I put my hand underneath and scraped his....and...real nice and light. He didn't say a word. He let me do it. After pictures he asked, Alisha, how does my....feel. I said it feels pretty good, doesn't it. He hasn't asked me back on the show. But I refuse to call and ask. I don't need it.
"I ran into Luke Ford around 5 am after the last AVN awards. We were just outside the bar at the Rio, in the aisle. He had just wrote all that stuff about how I slept with Paul Fishbein. I've been in Paul's office a total of about four or five times. Most times with Mark Howard. Paul's door was open with his assistant there. So I didn't like hearing that, obviously. Someone told me Luke Ford was at the bar. I said where the fuck is Luke Ford. Someone pointed him out. I said you're Luke Ford? I go, you're the motherfucking friend of everybody. People were now packing around me. I said you're the motherfucker who writes things about people that aren't true. I said don't do that to me. I don't appreciate it. Facts are facts. It was so weird. He stepped outside the crowd and still stood there and remained there. He did take everything off his site, but I know he printed stuff about Seymore that wasn't true."
Here's what Sky, Vivid's new contract girl has to say.
G. Ross: "What's it like being a Vivid girl now. You made a big switch real quick"
Sky: "I sure did. I don't know how the hell that happened. I'm still trying to figure that out."
G. Ross: "What was that whole deal about with Shane?"
Sky: "Actually, it was just kind of agreed upon. Everything's good and we're all good friends, still. Nothing bad or any hard feelings. They're happy for me. Actually I was talking to Howard Levine of Vivid in Vegas the weekend before I left Shane. It was at a show. I forgot what it was. I hung out with Howard and Raylene the whole time I was there. We all got along really well. Howard, says if you're ever out of a contract, the first person you should ever call is me. Then, when I wasn't with Shane anymore, the first person I called was Howard. He said you're kidding. Can you be here Monday morning at 11? I said okay. I walked in, met Steve Hirsch and talked for a couple of minutes. And he goes here's a contract, read it over. He said he never signed a contract that fast, ever. It took a couple of minutes.
"This is my third Vivid [Where The Boys Aren't 13]. I did a gonzo which is Watcher 3 and a scene for PT....I was asked in another interview what I was going to do with Vivid and I said I'm going to screw the whole thing up. I go Vivid needs some color and I'm going to be the one giving it to them. I don't follow the rules. They said dress cute for this shoot and real girly. I wore sweat pants and a motocross shirt....they don't reprimand me, they just laugh at me. Oh God, Sky, what do we do? They don't have any idea. Everybody goes you're so much like Shane!
"They've asked me to do the new Debbie Does Dallas. I guess I'll be Debbie.
The weather started getting bad, the tiny ship was tossed.. you'd think after the Dave Christopher fiasco at Catalina some time ago that certain precautions would be taken for future trips there. Evidently not. Director Jim Powers was involved in one such trip to hell. It occured the day before the Summer Expo began.
Powers: "They were having me do this Black Beach Patrol Number 5. We had a small budget, so I couldn't get big boats, so I got Earl Slate's boats. The idea was to take the girls to Catalina. We want to leave early in the morning, but we can't get the boat going for an hour and a half. Luckily we had this mechanic there.
"We had a five-man crew straight out of Deliverance. I don't know where he got these guys. So they finally get this boat going and we head out. I'm with Earl in the faster of the two speedboats. We scout for places we're going to shoot on the island. To make a long story short, we end up shooting a couple of scenes on the island, and here's where the problem starts. It's about six o'clock [in the evening] when we finished. I got home finally about 3:30 in the morning.
"We were sitting there. He can't get the boats going. One boat starts going, the other one dies. We finally get it going. It runs 20 minutes. It dies again. One of the motors is out. Now we're heading back and the second boat dies. So the mechanic is jumping from boat to boat fixing these things. We're going three knots. Earl decides he's going to fall asleep. He's passed out. It's night time. Never mind that his boat is ready to blow up at any minute and we're barely making it. His radios don't work. Stuart Canterbury's production manager, Adam, and this still photographer are left to drive the boat. These boats should be sunk. One of his lifeboats was covered with barnbacles and lobsters. It was like he hadn't taken it out of still water for three years. It was unbelievable.
"Adam isn't a sailor. Earl's0 asleep. We can't wake him up. So the best way back I figure is drive along the coast. Adam's driving along the coast. You're not supposed to do that. Then we run out of gas and the waves are taking us into shore. Both boats are having mechanical trouble, and it's the blind leading the blind at this point. Then we get pulled over by the police about 1:30, two in the morning. I think they thought we were 'buggers,' or lobster thieves. Monique, Chocolate and Kenya are downstairs freaking, Jim do something! The sheriff pulled alongside and boards the boat. I'm hiding tapes and stuff. How am I going to explain this one. Once the cops came on and saw we weren't stealing lobsters they left us alone. The police have to tow Earl in.
"Another thing was we had this couple along and they were supposed to buy the boat from Earl. They were going along as a test drive. The wife is going beserk the whole time. We had a still guy who's never shot stills on pornos that Rob Spallone hooked me up with...it was crazy. Earl got a ticket the previous week for being stranded. You would think he would start getting a clue."
"I'm thinking about doing a giant bukkake for New Year's Eve where they jack off for the count down. You do it as an orgy. I have a bukkake army lined up."
Powers is being given a contract to run a publically-held company from Baltimore which will release Buck Adams' Major Rock. "It will give us access to a lo
