With next weeks release of Sex Machines, Homegrown Video is cross-purposing some of their most popular content made for their HomegrownCams site and releasing it on VHS and DVD in traditional retail outlets.
The footage being used isn't just what you would see on the net; it's a specially shot scene, usually done during the middle of a live Webshow. There is interactivity before and after the video segment, which allows Xplor/Homegrown to cross-purpose their content to the satisfaction of both their Internet and retail customers.
"What we don't want is to have a live Webshow and just capture it and throw it on a video. When people see video of a Webshow where the girls talk to the monitor or types in a chat response it softens a scene. Sometimes there's a guy on the sidelines telling the girls what people are typing in - that's nothing you want on a video," explained Xplor/Homegrown CEO Moffit, who agreed that the interactive aspects of Web production don't translate well into traditional porn.
Besides a bevy of amateur girls, Sex Machine features machines such as the Thrillhammer, a device built by Alan who does live Webcams through Homegrown.
"Basically the Thrillhammer an old barbershop chair rigged with a dildo and controllers so a girl can regulate the action of the dildo," Moffit told AVN.com. "We didn't want to use sybians because they are a little too professional, while the Thrillhammer is more of a mad scientist sort of creation."
Other devices used in the video were created by the team at Cdgirls.com.
Sex Machine streets on April 30.
