Nominations are being accepted now through November 15 for the second annual XBiz Adult Web Awards, to be given out January 6 during the Internext Expo in Las Vegas.
And if you want to talk about an honour catching on fast, you can begin with this year's nominations. In the first couple of hours that the nominations began coming in, there were 115 Websites and adult Internet businesses nominated. Last year's awards had 150 nominations total.
"Well, the word of mouth is very powerful," said XBiz mastermind Alec Helmy, "and a lot of people have been talking about it since we introduced this last year. And that tells us we did something right. We're expecting several hundred nominations this time."
Helmy said he began the awards in the first place for the sake of the adult Internet itself. "I felt that a lot of people put in a lot of hard work into their businesses in this industry," he said, "and they don't get recognized for it very often. This is a great opportunity to recognize companies that strive to excel in their field."
All companies in each award category are eligible to be nominated, with the categories including Best Affiliate Program, Best Content Provider, Best Billing Service, Best Web Host, Best Design Service, Most Innovative Product, Industry Achievement Award, and the People's Choice Award. XBiz has rounded up a panel of industry professionals to be judges and vote for the winners, and one company per category will receive the Crystal XBiz Award.
