NEW ENGLAND—A trailer for independently-produced reality-based feature Russian Manimal Volkoff has dropped on YouTube, with a cast that includes wrestling and adult stars.
The movie is an experimental feature-length erotic comedy “shot in the spirit of the world-famous mockumentary This Is Spinal Tap,” a spokesperson for producers said.
Written by award-winning moviemaker Christopher Annino, the story is fictional but inspired by actual events. The project was produced by EM Collectibles and ECUSA-TV, with shooting locations in Florida, New York and Washington D.C.
Performers featured in the movie are stars from the adult, wrestling and body-building worlds, including AVN nominee Foxxxy Darlin, adult actress Janelle Fennec, Olga Kurkulina (star of Kick Ass 2), IFBB Pro Aurelia Grozajova, TEA Award-nominated dominatrix/metal bassist Rock Doll Tempest, 78-year-old adult star Desiree Eden, Howard Stern’s Maria Nazzaro, Andrew Bryniarski (of Street Fighter), ECW original Gary Wolf, pro wrestler Marsha Maraschino, nude model Serenity Angel, The Real Drago, Alex Horvath and Yoeseph Ragnadof, as well as a non-sex cameo by AVN Hall of Fame Inductee Tyffany Million.
The plot, which producers said are based on “actual” events, begins when “Soviet amateur athlete Mikhail Alekseyev volunteered to take part in a Soviet genetics experiment. The experiment was part of the Omega Program, code name ‘Manimal.’ The program’s mission objective was to enhance and transform athletes utilizing animal genetics, eventually creating super soldiers. However, the program loses funding during mid-transformation and, for his safety, the government decided to freeze Alekseyev.
“Twenty years later during a power outage, he escapes and defects to the U.S., convinced he was on a Soviet mission. After being discovered by professional wrestling promoter (Gary Wolf) he changes his name to ‘Russian Manimal Volkoff.’ Manimal eventually forms the Russian Gangstas, a group made up of professional wrestlers, musicians, athletes, film stars, and various other influencers.”
Throughout the movie, Volkoff appears in bouts for Veteran Pro Wrestling, Twisted Wrestling Alliance, United States Wrestling Federation and Super Strong Pro Wrestling and “sets a professional wrestling record for being banned from 47 consecutive locations and organizations.”
“Like Mary Shelly's novel Frankenstein, the ‘Russian Manimal’ might be more misjudged and misguided, however he is not a monster,” the synopsis concludes. “The formula for evil is ignorance plus jealousy and Manimal is neither of those. The Russian Manimal is kind but, when provoked, he lashes out based on survival instincts, not emotional outburst. Volkoff is unable to judge people based on the category society gives them, and he only judges based on how they act.”
The lead character of masked wrestler Russian Manimal Volkov remains unrevealed, but can be followed on Facebook, booked for gigs on Model Mayhem or contacted at [email protected].
