MONTREAL—Wicked Pictures has wrapped production on Reputation, an ambitious new psychological crime thriller co-directed by Michael Vegas and Siouxsie Q.
“Blending procedural suspense, noir-inspired mystery, and emotionally charged relationships, the feature promises to deliver one of Wicked’s most cinematic productions to date,” a studio rep said.
“Set against the backdrop of Los Angeles, Reputation follows former LAPD detective turned criminology professor Gillian Sterling (Gal Ritchie), who is drawn back into active investigations after a string of young women mysteriously disappear across the city. Reuniting with her former partner, Detective Alex Fletcher (Zac Wild), Gillian is forced to confront old relationships, departmental corruption, and an increasingly personal investigation tied to a secretive roleplay app. As the case spirals deeper into obsession and deception, she discovers that reputations can be carefully crafted—and dangerously misleading,” a provided description reads. The feature “explores themes of power, trust, identity and institutional corruption while weaving together suspense, romance and psychological tension in a distinctly modern noir narrative.”
“I’ve always wanted to make a cop movie, and setting it against the gritty backdrop of Los Angeles made it even more exciting,” commented Vegas. “What truly delighted me was the chemistry between Zac and Gal. Their relationship became the emotional heartbeat of the film, and I think audiences are going to fall in love with that dynamic. And I have to say, Charles Dera as a police sergeant is everything you could hope for.”
For co-director Siouxsie Q, Reputation represents an opportunity to tell a crime story from a fresh perspective.
“Collaborating with Wicked on Reputation allowed us to create something that feels both thrilling and deeply personal,” she said. “Set against the Los Angeles I love, it’s a procedural thriller that explores power, corruption and identity through complex characters and emotional performances.
“I’m incredibly proud of what our cast accomplished, especially Alison Rey and our ensemble of women, who brought remarkable authenticity and heart to the story,” she added.
Also featuring Ameena Green, Nina Nova, Summer Col, Scarlett Alexis, Nicole Kitt and Dani Synclair, Reputation “continues Wicked Pictures’ tradition of elevating adult storytelling through cinematic production values, compelling characters and ambitious filmmaking,” the rep noted.
Reputation is slated to premiere later this year exclusively on Wicked.com.
