She calls herself the Sarong Party Girl, but she has presented anything but a party for Singapore administrators trying to put a lid on porn, since her weblog features nudes of herself coupled with her writings. Singapore's tough anti-porn laws haven't really hit the Internet firmly enough, officials there say.
The problem, according to several reports, is that Singapore's laws address video and print but not really the Internet. That gives the Sarong Party Girl room enough to share her sexcapades and her images.
Indeed, the 19-year-old with ambitions in the academic world tweaked the current reports and commentaries about her doings and undoings in a June 13 entry.
"I am away in paradise at the moment and am very glad for it. While all of you are minding my business and trying to cause me unnecessary hassle, scandal, and a racing heartbeat because I simply don't know what the hell happen or what the hell is going on," Sarong Party Girl wrote. "But at this moment I am tucked away in a villa on a hill, overlooking a flowing stream and a valley filled with ashen trunked trees and smelling of frangipani.
"Frankly, thanks for all the publicity," she continued. "As for the criticism, what do I care. My confidence and self-satisfaction does not depend on anyone's opinion or [judgment] of me. Why should it, when all the people that criticize me are dumbasses anyway. Whoever you are, you are too narrow-minded, thoughtless, and irrational for me to believe your [assessments] of the person that is me should have any credibility [sic] at all for me to give a shit about what you think."
