Website Allegedly Selling Pirated DVDs

An adult e-tailer operating out of Georgia has allegedly been selling pirated DVDs of at least two companies, and is suspected of having pirated the DVDs of many adult production companies including Hustler, New Sensations and Sin City.

Red Light District owner Dion Giarrusso received a package from a fan this week who lives in Georgia with a number of pirated DVDs from adultdumpbin.com. Gregg Alan, president of Diabolic, received a package last week with pirated copies of Anabolic and Diabolic DVDs from that originated from the same Website.

“They have Red Light District product on the site and they are selling it for $13.95. I maintain a distributor price and there is no way anyone could be selling it for that price,” Giarrusso told AVN.com.

While the site offers both VHS and DVD, only DVDs have been confirmed as pirated.

Giarrusso called the contact number listed on the Website. “It’s a voicemail. I just told him that I was Dion from Red Light and that I was anxious to talk to him. ‘I ordered your product and I have it in my hand and I’m going to get your fucking ass’ is pretty much what I said.”

Alan, who currently is working on more than 10 pirating cases, says that piracy is very common with mail order companies. “We can sue them if we want. We actually register our copyrights, not just put the symbol on the box. In theory, you can get a tremendous amount of money, but you can only get what they have.”

However, from previous experience, Alan doubts this case will go that far. “He’ll get a cease and desist. Maybe we’ll have a private eye do a background check – see if he has anything worth suing for,” he said.

Alan reports that the pirated DVDs were of very low quality. The box covers look photocopied and the discs themselves were unmarked – unlike most legitimate DVDs on the adult market.

JM Productions owner Jeff Stewart didn’t know the company existed until he was called by AVN.com. He had not been notified of any pirated DVDs coming from adultdumpbin.com but was going to look into it since both the Red Light District and Anabolic/Diabolic had found pirated works originating the Website. The pricing of his product on the Website suggested that the JM Productions product was pirated also.

"I know its bullshit because I charge more than that. For me its really easy because we charge a flat rate to all customers," said Stewart.

Noting the site had a variety of product but no real depth, Stewart suggested that the man either works at or regularly frequents an adult video store. “Look at the bukkake section – there’s only three titles. They must have been the only three there.”

Adultdumpbin.com sells and rents product from the following companies: Legend, New Sensations, Evil Empire, Kick Ass, Hustler, Devils Films, Sin City, Elegant Angel and more.

AVN.com actually reached someone at the contact number listed. We were informed that the number was for a cell phone by a man who refused to identify himself. In regards to the Website, the unidentified person insisted that it was actually a friend’s site and identified Aleta Johnson as the owner of the site. He claimed that his number was listed simply as a means to help his friend out.

Adultdumpbin.com, the site in question, is registered to Worldwide Video, Ltd. with a Roswell address. The administrative contact information for the site lists William Mason. Previous sites associated with the cell phone listed on the contact page list World Wide Video Trading as the owner and use the handle Frank Mason for administrative purposes.

Objectware, Inc, an Atlanta-based Webhosting company, informed AVN.com that both the phone numbers and the email addresses listed on relevant sites were invalid.

While piracy can cost the industry billions of dollars, it doesn’t seem likely that Adultdumpbin.com made much of an impact into anyone’s pockets. Last month they had only 1,294 unique visitors. This month, they have had 1,445 uniques so far. Visitors tend to spend an hour on the site.

Other domains suspected to be used by the same person include adultvideotrading.com, adultvideodumpbin.com, and adultdvddumpbin.com. adultvideotrading.com is no longer operating, while the other two sites adultvideodumpbin.com and adultDVDdumpbin.com redirect to adultdumpbin.com.
