E-commerce processors DHD Media and live online chat specialists VS Media announced a partnership in which DHD provides online payment processing services for VS Media’s properties, including Flirt4Free.com.
VS Media keeps their own merchant accounts, but has integrated their billing procedures with DHD. Previously, VS Media handled processing in house, but because of increasing credit card encryption and security requirements, coupled with their rapid growth, made a strategic decision to bring in a partner.
“We’re moving at a tremendous pace. The only way I believe a company can do that is to focus on core competencies and let other people focus on theirs. Otherwise you get too spread out and you become a jack-of-all-trades and master of none. Instead, we want to be the master of one and that’s live chat,” VS Media president Gregory Clayman told AVNOnline.com.
And so Clayman was drawn to the industry veterans at DHD, whom he felt shared a similar trait – providing one set of services and providing them exceedingly well.
For DHD, the addition was a coup.
“Its been a real exclamation point on the superiority of our services, not only in terms of the methods but in terms of the infrastructure and the technology, just to be able to handle the volume and frequency because these guys are definitely one of the biggest online businesses that there is,” said Ron Jenkins, president of DHD Media.
VS operates differently than most online Adult businesses, with transactions taking place in real time and users paying by the minute and using the minutes right away.
The model has been no problem for DHD to handle. The company’s processing services are set up on completely redundant software and run on an Oracle enterprise-class database. Additional modules can be set up to increase volume incrementally.
“We can do roughly 10 times the transactions we’re doing now,” Jenkins said.
In addition to credit card processing, DHD provides integrated video streaming/DRM and managed hosting solutions.
