A fitting setting and a fitting crowd for a fitting occasion.
Video Secrets’ 10th anniversary party at the Playboy Mansion brought out a who’s who of the adult industry Saturday night. ( photo gallery)
Not only were there beautiful women like Wicked Pictures’ Carmen Hart and Kaylani Lei, Club Jenna’s Sophia Rossi and the always entertaining Mary Carey, but some of the people who built the adult
business into what it is today – Vivid’s Steven Hirsch, Red Light District’s David Joseph, Club Jenna’s Jay Grdina, and AVN’s Paul Fishbein and Darren Roberts.
It was a fitting mix for a company that has been so influential in shaping what the Internet is today. Throw in the likes of Ron Jeremy, Adam Glasser and former Jane’s Addiction
guitarist Dave Navarro and it’s clear that this wasn’t your typical webmaster event – it was a hell of a lot more.
“This was the only venue that we could think of that could solidify the message we wanted to deliver tonight,” VS Media president Greg Clayman told me as we lounged by the grotto. “This
isn’t about us. It’s about how much we appreciate all the people who have helped up get to this milestone. This is the least we could do.”
The least that VS could do didn’t just include having some friends and business associates over to the Playboy Mansion. No, this will probably go down as one of the best and classiest adult events in memory.
Although L.A. happened to be receiving it’s yearly rain shower on Saturday night, guests were ushered into Hef’s backyard to find the entire pool area under one giant tent, which was split
into a main room with tables (and of course the grotto, pool and bar), and a second room with a dance floor, a topless DJ and multiple pole dancers, an area which happened to be the stage for some interesting performances throughout the night. As the night wore on, the pool was of course home to the usual nude hijinks.
Around 11 p.m. both Clayman and VS co-founder Chuck Tsiamis took the stage to thank their guests and associates for 10 great years in the business. Their speeches were followed by
February 2006 Flirt of the Month Alyssah jumping out of a giant cake and doing a delicious little striptease.
Although Clayman’s mother Judy, who was in attendence to celebrate her son’s achievement, wasn’t terribly interested in that part, she did play the part of proud parent.
“The first six months he was in this business, I thought I would die,” she told me, “but today I couldn’t be prouder.”
