VoteSexy Solicits Visitors’ Opinions

VoteSexy.co.uk, a Web 2.0 video-clip filter, is gaining momentum after its launch just two months ago.

VoteSexy.co.uk allows users to submit a favorite sexy video clip into a video lineup. Other users filter through the videos and vote for their favorite clips.

"First of all, none of the videos are hosted directly on VoteSexy.co.uk. Users simply submit the embedded video code from other sites that allow it, [for example, PornoTube.com," said Ilia Boyko, founder and owner of VoteSexy.co.uk.

"Direct upload facility is one of the features still to come," Boyko explained. "At the moment, we rely on other sites' [video hosting] to deal with this matter for us. However, if there are any complaints or if we feel that we don't have the rights to display a certain video, such material will be removed [as soon as possible] and submitter warned."

Neil Orkin, owner of Clips4Sale, an American-based site where users can upload adult-oriented video clips, commented on VoteSexy's voting premise. "The idea is interesting," he said. "We've considered something like it before; however, it uses a great deal of bandwidth."

Once a video clip receives a certain number of points, it is promoted to the website's front page. VoteSexy.co.uk still is in its beta-testing phase, but traffic is increasing exponentially, said Boyko.

"[We have] no affiliate program at the moment, but I have had ideas about sharing some of the revenue with active members," she added.
