European director/photographer Viv Thomas decided to head stateside to shoot footage for his newest release, The American Ream. Thomas’ last visit to the Los Angeles area, where he helmed the title, was over 10 years ago. Thomas said the feature was shot in a Mullholland Drive mansion.
“Our intentions were to steer away from what is being churned out daily in L.A.,” said Thomas. “Instead, we tried to make it a bit more erotic which was a challenge because most of these guys and girls tend to flick a switch as soon as you say ‘action’ and they turn into wild, filthy mouthed animals.
“We did our best to curb this, and we managed to film five sex scenes in a more genuine way.”
“Viv is one of those guys you admire from a distance because you never think you will get to work with him, as he shoots mainly in Europe,” said starlet Sandra Romain, who does an anal scene in The American Ream. “The fact that he’s here and I’m working with him is a real honor…I hope he’s happy with my performance and he comes back soon.”
Thomas came to prominence in Europe and South Africa as a renowned pin-up photographer. His images have been a regular feature in overseas magazines like Mayfair and Scope, as well as several of England’s famed “Page 3 Girls." Viv Thomas Video is based in Portugal.
