VidsView.net Content Production Unwraps

Saying he saw a serious need for high-end production of adult Internet visual content, veteran television and adult video shooter/producer veteran adult shooter/producer Vid Vicious has unwrapped an Internet content venture, VidsView.net. And his aim is to shoot high – as in high definition, especially – without charging too high for the product.

"It's wanting to bring Internet porn to the same level as video porn," Vicious told AVN.com "It has replaced a lot of magazines and enough video rentals, so let's give it at least the same quality. Instead of competing with each other with crap, let's compete with each other with really quality-shot content."

In the planning since 2002, VidsView.net will offer such services as video production in all formats and styles, photography, photo touchups including watermarking, hair and makeup, model recruitment, training and consulting, script writing and story board composition, editing on and offline, video compression for final Web-ready product, DVD authoring, text editing, Flash design, Website design, and site optimization.

Vicious brings credentials enough to the table, having been a television broadcast shooter for almost fifteen years as well as doing some film camera work for mainstream and a fair volume of adult video work. That volume included a stint as production director for Wild Rose Productions. And he isn't shy about pointing to what he thinks have been some of the key flaws in adult Internet content.

"I saw a serious need on the Web for high end production," he said. "There's so many reality sites coming out, and they're so many just Joe Blow with a $5,000 camera, shoot it on tape, call himself a pornographer, and some of the stuff that's out there right now, that's horrible. They're not aware of the simple things they need to do to make the videos better. You have a closeup shot where it's just into a black abys,s and a little penlight would have helped it tenfold and still had that amateur look.

"On the Web, the quality of porn was getting very low," he continued. "Doesn't matter what the style is you're shooting in, you can always improve it and give your viewer a better image. It won't take away from the style but it'll have that extra little something that someone can watch it and enjoy it."

What helped push him full tilt toward setting up his new shop, Vicious said, was an Internext visit in January. "I met the guys from YNOT, and they asked me to write some articles about video and shooting, and I got a great response," he said. "And, from that, more people asked me about photography. And I'd been getting into hosting and Web design, but I don't know 110 percent about those. So I thought, well, I should do what I do know."

The biggest obstacle he found in getting started, Vicious said, was a misconception about how expensive he might be, because of his experience and his broad technical knowledge.

"I'm still finding it's difficult enough, because a lot of people are assuming I'm more expensive than everyone else, but I'm still only standard rate," he said. "Most of my equipment is leftover from my broadcast years. The equipment I don't have I can get very inexpensively because I have been in broadcast."
