Playful couples and swinging singles have a new Web destination to visit when planning a trip to Vegas. Catering to sexually active travelers, AmericanLowLife is a community-based matchmaker and travel site that gives tips not only on what to do while visiting Sin City, but also who to do.
The free site boasts a list of features open to registered users, including sophisticated profiles with four levels of picture viewing (including "invitation only" photos), internal email that can be delivered to a member's cell phone, buddy lists, and wish lists. Additionally, AmericanLowLife features several connection features, such as the popular Vegas Visitor list (a list of who is coming to town), Going Out (a roster of hot party spots), the HookUp (a "booty call" feature), and a parties and events listing that not only details the events happening in Las Vegas clubs and hotels (including concerts) but also the more private house parties and lifestyle events. RSVPs can be made online.
AmericanLowLife President and founder Bruce Dyer says he developed the website in response to visitor demand.
“The last question was usually whether my wife and I could accompany [visitors] while they partied around town or, if not, did we know anyone who could?” Dyer explains. “If we didn't have to work and our bodies could stand up to constant partying, we'd probably join most of them, but we figured it was smarter to hook the ones up who were in the same frame of mind – usually other tourists – and let them have fun with each other.”
Listing nearly every hotel, nightclub, bar, ultra-lounge, strip club, and stage show in town along with pictures of the venues, links to their websites, and member-generated ratings and reviews, AmericanLowLife presents an opportunity for strangers to, er, cum together, among other things.
“Most everyone who comes to Las Vegas, no matter how upscale they are, seems to get in touch with their ‘inner lowlife,’ which is exactly what this town caters to,” Dyer says. “They eat and drink more than they would at home, they sleep less, they gamble, they play more adult games. We think it's fun and something to be proud of, so we facilitate it. And of course, we do it, too, so we know what we're talking about!”
Future plans include additional wireless features, additional party cities, an online store where visitors can purchase club and event tickets, and AmericanLowLife-branded clothing and gift items.
"While lifestyle visitors like to meet other, similar people while they are in Las Vegas, they also like to do the touristy things, too,” Dyer says. “So AmericanLowLife helps them with both.”
