Hustler Video director Vanessa Blue will host “Roulette,” which
is billed as an “urban erotic cabaret,” at the Tribeca Performing Arts
Center in tonight in New York
“Roulette” stars “The Punany Poets,” who will help transform the tradition
of open-microphone poetry into a full-scale stage production complete with
monologue, dance and song.
The lyrics are performed against a live band that combines jazz with hip-hop
and rhythm and blues. “Roulette” also stars comedian Sheryl Underwood.
“The cabaret runs a rigorous course from the rude awakenings of sexually
transmitted disease to offering empowerment to those who have suffered
molestation and answers to those seeking safer sex demonstrations,”
according to the promotional material.
The Tribeca Performing Arts Center is located at 199 Chambers Street in New
York, 10007.
