Upgrading Effex: Version 2.0 Launched

Adult shopping partnership program maker Effex Media has overhauled its reseller-affiliate program to launch Effex v2.0, aimed at letting affiliate Webmasters customize their adult store sites.

The upgrade includes over 20,000 DVDs, videos, and adult toys for customers to choose from, plus an extensive selection of new releases, in a group of product store sites Effex hopes will give Webmasters a better revenue-stream developing tool. The upgrade also includes a video-on-demand program offering over 2,500 titles for all types of customers, live chat, and a DVD rental program offering an alternative "for consumers seeking a nearly endless supply of adult titles."

Effex spent three months working on the upgrade, according to director of business development Adam Winters. "We had a lot of input from our resellers," he told AVN Online. "They were looking for us to give them a lot more control so they could do what they wanted and needed, rather than have us doing so many things for them. And I want to give them as much control as possible to make their stores as profitable as possible for them."

Not that the original Effex was a problem child. "It functioned well," Winters said. "But we have a lot of large clients with us. And we found from research and competitive analysis that they wanted more customization, more reporting, more ways to run their own campaigns and track their traffic to measure the most effective ways to draw traffic. (Effex has) progressed over the last couple of years, but this is the first major upgrade we've come up with that was worthy to be named its own version."

That led to the TKCode tools brought in as part of the new v2.0. An affiliate has only to click on a drop-down menu to generate HTML for traffic-driving banner ads, and the new version also includes "numerous" new banners available through the backend, more improved reporting tools, and more improved tracking tools.

Affiliate Webmasters can also add new sites and choose the product offerings they want to make automatically, which Winters said will let them target products better than they had done with the earlier version. Affiliates can earn variable payouts between 20 and 35 percent, correlated to product pricing, which "is common to companies who do similar things that we do," Winters said.
