LOS ANGELES—London Ford smiles when he thinks back to his days of being a door-to-door salesman.
“I was really into entrepreneurship and starting my own business,” said the soft-spoken newcomer. “But going door to door in 90-degree heat wasn’t really the best idea back then.”
With his 6-foot frame carrying just over 200 pounds, Ford could easily be mistaken for a pro athlete or male model as he walked in wearing a black button-down shirt and black jeans, sporting a perennial smile and easy-going demeanor that has charmed starlets and viewers alike.
Arriving in the adult industry just last year, Ford is growing his brand thanks to his energetic performances and unique chemistry that he often shares with his co-stars.
“I’m just grateful to be here and be a part of this industry that has brought so much to me and my life,” he said. “Sometimes it’s hard to believe that I’m here and having these amazing experiences.”
But it wasn’t always that way for the Las Vegas resident. Born in Japan to a Japanese mother and an Irish father, Ford found life there exciting but a bit too conservative for his free-spirited ways. “I grew up in Japan with my family. It was a huge one. A family of 10, so eight brothers and sisters including myself,” he recalled. “I grew up in this tiny Japanese town where there were no other foreigners. But it was very strange growing up like that because all the kids would be staring at you.
“So, I didn’t go the public-school route. I was a little bit rebellious, so my parents didn’t want to put me there. I wasn’t good with society.”
But after making the hard decision to move to Australia to explore his entrepreneurial spirit, Ford found opportunities in everything from dancing at bachelorette parties to selling insurance and doing online modeling. But after a year and a half, he moved to the U.S. where he met a male adult performer at a party who bragged about his exploits in the industry.
“It was a cool line of work and the girls I was with said it was interesting and said I should do it,” he recalled. “I thought I’d do it just once and say I did it and then a studio called and ended up taking me back every month for a week at a time. So I decided I should keep doing it and it just snowballed and now my whole life is different.”
But finding his footing was a no brainer for Ford, whose compelling performances and ability to make friends in the industry helped spark his rise.
“My first scene was for Private Society in Iowa and they flew me out because it was an emergency,” he recalled. “And it was a lot of fun. And they kept bringing me back.”
Soon, Ford found himself working for a number of companies such as Bang!, Bang Bros, Naughty America, Nookies, Swappz, Team Skeet and others as he played young bachelors or stepbrothers eager to hook up with comely waifs.
With his own warm demeanor and curious nature, Ford discovered he was able to quickly connect with his scene partners and bring added realism to the production. But on occasion, the connection was harder to make.
“Those are the times, I think, as a guy are the hardest to deal with—that’s when I don’t feel anything there. I’m a pleaser, so I’m not happy unless the girl is happy,” he said. “I always try to build a connection with the girl before we start so that we ensure the scene goes well. Plus, you can always tell when somebody is happy to be there.”
While porn may seem to outsiders as something easy to do, Ford learned early on that being a male performer who is able to stay erect and pop on command is not as easy as it sounds.
“There’s always pressure, but I found out I can pop on cue. I didn’t know I could do that,” he explained. “But you dig deep and you can make it happen, so somehow you’re able to know and understand your body a little better the more you do it, so you know when to hold off when you’re too aroused. “
As for the future, Ford is already getting his entrepreneurial spirit in gear with the launch of his own self-produced series, The Girlfriend Auditions, on OnlyFans, where he auditions new starlets in the ways of what a potential girlfriend would need to know—like his predilection for lots of sex.
“I like the direction it’s going, so I’m excited,” he said.
With several bookings already filling up his schedule, Ford is excited about what lies ahead.
“I’m not focused on any particular company but I’m open to any opportunities,” he said. “I’m very new so I’m still trying to know what niche I really like and I’m just more like trying a lot of different variations.”
