Lovers Fantasy has pulled all adult videos and DVDs from its website and catalogs, saying they were conforming to recent British High Court rulings barring brick-and-mortar sex shops from selling such goods online or by mail order.
“Sex shops such as Loversfantasy.co.uk have a social responsibility to ensure the type of material stocked by sex shops does not get into the hands of minors," said managing director Carl Sherratt, announcing the move.
"Internet sex shops are a fantastic means for our clientele to purchase their sex shop items discreetly and anonymously," he continued. "We fully support the decision of the High Court to restrict this type of sale and will be continuing to ensure we do all we can to ensure that our sex shop conforms to any such legislation.”
Lovers Fantasy had been doing business since last December and said they expect their early brick-and-mortar success to continue in spite of the end of online and catalog sales.
