U.S. Performers Get Star Treatment at Mexico’s Sexo Expo

The Mexican adult entertainment community rolled out the red carpet for US porn performers during the 3rd annual Sexo Expo in Mexico City from Feb. 14 - 18. Organized much like AVN's Adult Entertainment Expo, the week-long show took place at Palacios De Los Deportes (The Sports Palace) and welcomed hundreds of thousands of fans.

By all accounts, the reception that our Porn Valley stars received south of the border was tremendous. "They treated us like stars," said AVN's 2007 Male Performer of the Year, Tommy Gunn. "The Mexican people are very nice and we got a great reception. We were invited on radio programs and morning television shows — like their version of 'The Oprah Winfrey Show.'"

Gunn, along with Brooke Haven, Eva Angelina, Rebecca Love and Trina Michaels, went to Sexo Expo with publicity agency The Star Factory.

"This year we were on the front page of six newspapers and many magazines," said Zero Tolerance contract girl Courtney Cummz, who represented the company along with Alektra Blue and Roxy Reynolds.

Zero Tolerance has been attending the expo since it began. Every Zero Tolerance and 3rd Degree DVD features a Spanish language track, so the company has been steadily building its fan base in this burgeoning market.

"Europe and Latin America are more open sexually and it shows," said a Zero Tolerance spokesman. For one, the performers at the expo had fewer restrictions on their dress code.

"By the end of the day, people were completely naked on stage," added Gunn.

The stage performances drew some of the biggest crowds.

"When we did feature dance shows, the crowds were huge," said Cummz, "and we got to work the fans like it was a rock concert. They had barricades around the stage and fans would sit there and watch us all day."

"When we first got there the crowd wasn't so big," said Gunn. "But by the weekend you could step off the stage and go crowd surfing. I was impressed."

"It was crazy," added Cummz. "The show is only three years old so it's still new to them."

The expo is also a health-conscious endeavor, with events held to raise money to fight AIDS and free condom giveaways.
