Tristan Taormino Signs Deal With Vivid

Author and director Tristan Taormino has signed an exclusive deal with Vivid Entertainment Group to direct and produce instructional movies and direct a new line of reality titles.

Vivid co-founder and co-chairman Steven Hirsch praised the veteran director for her vision and talent.

“Tristan is one of the bright talents to come into the adult business in this generation,” he said.

“We are thrilled that we’ll be able to have her fresh perspective on two very exciting new projects simultaneously.”

Under the deal, Taormino would produce a new line of instructional movies on ways for people to improve their sex lives, dubbed Vivid-Ed.

“It’s all about teaching people techniques and inspiring them to want to practice what they learned right away,” she said.

“With Vivid-Ed, we have a chance to inform, educate and get someone off simultaneously.”

The new series was inspired by Taormino’s sex workshops and university lectures she has conducted over the past eight years. She said she plans to draw on this experience which includes subjects such as safer sex, erotic role-playing, anal pleasure and sex toys.

Vivid plans to release four Vivid-Ed titles in the next 12 months, with Taormino directing the first two, with other directors handling the remaining titles.

Taormino would also direct a new line of reality-based videos, featuring wall-to-wall sex.

“Plenty of men and women tell me that they love all-sex features so the focus of my Vivid work will be on fresh perfomers, hot, spontaneous sex, real chemistry and real orgasms for everyone,” she said.

Taormino will begin directing the first of her movies in May, for a total of four scheduled for the year.

The Long Island native is the niece of novelist Thomas Pynchon and is known for her work in adult and for her column in the Village Voice. A graduate of Wesleyan University, she has written three books, including “The Ultimate Guide to Anal Sex for Women,” “Down and Dirty Sex Secrets,” and “True Lust: Adventures in Sex, Porn and Perversion.”
