LAS VEGAS—Today, the AVN Show gets under way, and as many as 35,000 attendees will enter the doors of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas to meet their favorite adult stars and cam performers, and check out the goods offered by a wide variety of exhibitors. The show, sponsored by MyFreeCams.com, runs January 24-27.
But the AVN Show is not just for fans. It also offers members of the adult industry an opportunity to network, do business and attend educational seminars. These seminars and workshops are open only to trade attendees (including performers) and members of the press.
Seminars on January 24 include several geared toward retailers, such as “Sexual Religion” (10 a.m.), in which speakers will talk about how they have reached out to faith-based communities not only to attract new customers but also help combat the negative connotations associated with sex toys and adult boutiques. Other sessions relevant to retailers include a discussion of legal issues (11 a.m.), using Wikipedia to build a brand (1 p.m.), and cannabis and the adult retail space (2:30 p.m.)
Other discussions are aimed at adult performers. Today’s offerings include “Just Looking for Some Touch,” a panel at 3 p.m. on how to incorporate other elements—gaming, dance, acrobatics, crafts and other skills—in live cam shows and clips. Joining the panel are adult performers Shawna Leneé and Will Havoc, and cam performers HackerGirl, Joey Kim and Goddess Haven.
Seminars and workshops take place in the Paradise Tower at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas. For more details, click here.
