Director Tina Tyler will be offering aspiring male porn stars a shot at the big time with the launch of her new website, guyspopby.com.
"I've been working on this particular site for the last couple of months," Tyler told AVN.com. "But it really wasn't coming together until all of a sudden as I was falling asleep one night, the idea came to me – I just thought, it's about time that somebody opens the doors to some fresh male talent."
Tyler described the concept of the site as a kind of "American Porno Idol for guys."
"What I'm doing is having the guys send recent pictures and contact info to [email protected] – I'm going to audition them, and every single audition will hit the site. Members will vote, and every other month a new winner will be chosen. That winnr will receive a boy/girl scene shot by me for the site that they can show to directors."
"The audition process is disrobing, getting an erection and ejaculating," Tyler explained. "There will also be an interview portion where we learn about the guy, his motivation, what he's done professionally up to this point. It's something that nobody's ever done before; it's always been hard for guys to get into this industry unless they have a hot girlfriend who will perform only with them."
The website capitalizes on the women's adult market in the same manner as her Handyman video series for Mercenary subsidiary Black Viking.
"Handyman has done very well," she said. "The number of women we're reaching has been overwhelming, according to the amount of feedback I've been getting via e-mail and MySpace. This website is aimed at the same market."
"I have a feeling that the new website is going to be a lot of fun for the girls," Tyler added. "I'd like to encourage female porn stars to vote for their favorite guy themselves. From the initial response I've received, there have been some pretty good-lookin' guys. So there will be some new, cute meat coming soon!"
