Tightfit Productions Opens New Studio

Gonzo production house Tightfit Productions has opened its new studio and offices.

The new facility, at 7641 Burnet St., features six standing sets, including a kitchen set, bedrooms, living rooms and an all-purpose set, allows the company to shoot its material as well as rent out the facility to other production companies.

“We wanted to leverage the cost of moving to this building by also renting out the stages to other companies,” said Oren Cohen, Tightfit’s president and owner.

"In a controlled environment like this, you don’t have to worry about neighbors or making noise or anything like that.”

The new studio is also sound proof, eliminating the sound of aircraft from nearby Van Nuys Airport which mar many shoots at other local studios, Cohen said.

The 15,000-square-foot structure includes administrative offices, a lounge, dressing rooms, a kitchen and additional rooms that could be used for shooting or other activities. It also includes a 9,000-square-foot warehouse area.

“The great thing is that the sets are so large that you won’t have trouble moving around and getting different angles.”

Those interested in booking the location may go online to www.tightfitstudios.com, which features photographs and other information.

“We hope to add a jail set, a doctor’s office and a dungeon for fetish shoots,” Cohen said.

Besides shoots, Cohen also sees the studio as a potential site for industry parties and events.

The son of veteran magazine distribution executive Simon Cohen, Oren Cohen started Tightfit last year under his family’s Lucky Media distribution arm. The label recently broke away from Lucky Media and moved Lucky’s headquarters and into the new building to reflect its independence
