Two-year-old production house Third Degree Films is issuing its 100th release with About Face P.O.V. #4, which was released on Tuesday.
“Sure I’m proud, but 100 (releases) is just the beginning. Our goal is to release over 1,000 quality titles… Maybe then we’ll have a party,” said Joey Wilson, company president and founder.
About Face, features Brazilian-born Monica Mattos and Spanish hottie Rebeca Linares who bang director Chris Streams hard, POV fashion.
“This is going to be a really hot title for us. Chris told me Monica was the best piece of ass he’s had other than his wife,” Wilson said.
Established in 2004, the Canoga Park-based company made a splash when it released Crack Addict, featuring Katja Kassin, followed quickly by Share the Load, with Arianna Jolie and Teagan.
“Those movies did great and we knew we were on the right track,” Wilson said.
Despite the fact that new companies were cropping up seemingly every day, Third Degree managed to gain a foothold in the market with its gonzo content.
The company’s directors, Streams and Danny Case were especially instrumental in the company’s success by helping develop new lines such as Swallow the Leader, Tits Ahoy, Screamin’ for Semen and Up’r Class, featuring a mix of newcomers and veteran starlets.
“We pride ourselves on producing consistent, quality movies. It’s that consistency which has contributed to our success,” Wilson said.
“I always said I wanted an A-girl in each scene and that’s what we did. We tried getting the best girls every time.”
In an effort to build his brand, Wilson used an artistic photo of a lone girl on the cover which featured bright red trim with a large logo at the bottom to further identify it. But the company drew criticism from some distributors who said it would detract from the cover art.
“But they were wrong. The boxes stood out and people were buying them.”
Despite the glut of gonzo titles, the company stood out and has managed to build on its success with new titles that now include interracial and Asian themes.
“We try to give a little bit of everything to everybody,” Wilson said.
Meanwhile, the company is preparing to release Up’r Class 4, starring Tory Lane and Jayna Oso on Aug. 22, followed by Porn Tarts, starring Morgan Simpson and Amber Rayne, on Aug. 29.
