SAN FRANCISCO—Award-winning performer, director and producer Chelsea Poe has re-released The Training of Poe through Chelsea Poe Productions. The 120-minute documentary is now streaming at the Chelsea Poe Productions studio pages on HotMovies and Adult Empire.
Directed by Bella Vendetta and co-starring Vendetta and Poe, The Training of Poe is an "erotic documentary journey through kink, fetish and lifestyle BDSM." The movie follows Poe as she travels to the mountains of western Massachusetts for an intensive three-day submissive training at the House of Vendetta.
“Through a combination of documentary filmmaking and erotic performance, the film explores the trust, discipline, communication and vulnerability involved in a structured Dominant/submissive relationship. It also captures a formative moment in Poe’s development as a BDSM performer and submissive,” a description reads.
“For me, as a trans woman, I moved to San Francisco to pursue a career in BDSM, but so many of my dreams felt out of reach because of the trans-exclusionary casting policies at the largest BDSM companies at the time,” said Poe. “The idea for this project grew out of that experience after I met Bella during an interview in the Bronx. One of my closest femme friends, Jacqueline Mary, and I drove through a thunderstorm from Brooklyn to western Massachusetts. Over the next week, everything about my identity as a BDSM slave clicked into place. I’m so thankful to Bella for creating this project with me, and I’m thrilled to share it again as we approach the 10th anniversary of the film’s release.”
The re-release is part of Poe’s continuing effort to preserve and make her earlier work available under the Chelsea Poe Productions banner. “By bringing The Training of Poe back to streaming audiences, Poe is placing the film within the larger story of her career as a performer, filmmaker and BDSM artist while also preserving an important piece of queer erotic cinema,” Poe’s rep said.
