A self-billed “adult themed reality show” project calling itself The Porn Reform Show is casting “adult professionals” for its pilot production.
A spokesperson told AVN.com that because it’s a pilot, they are not revealing the commissioning channel or working title “at this early stage.”
“We prefer females for the pilot,” the source said, adding that the series will focus on “people who are transitioning out of the business, who ideally have one foot in and one foot out, and who need a little help to make that change.
“There are people in the industry who don’t really want to do it and are using it as a means to an end. We just want to help them get there a little faster.”
The source continued, reassuringly, “The slant is not conservative. It’s not anti-porn. But what we do want is to take porn actors/models and build up their other characteristics.
“We’ll be depicting the main person we cast as a full, well-rounded, real life character; following them around a bit and getting some backstory and real life in or outside of the biz. It’s an opportunity to be depicted in a different way.”
No monetary compensation is involved, because of the small budget, the spokesperson said. “The compensation is in getting help with a potential ‘life makeover,’ and the experience of working with really good people. The publicity, should the show take off, will be tremendous and a great opportunity for anyone who wants to ‘cross over.’”
The source added that “the pilot is with an established, Emmy Award-winning independent production company in affiliation with a major cable channel and other supporting partners.”
