Crystal Dawn has reinvented herself and is now going to be known as Crystal Methud. It's all part of her non-exclusive contract deal with Passion Pictures that puts her in the company of other porn stars, all named after rock bands: Allsion Chaynes and Kiss. David Brett of Passion Pictures last week got in the middle of a war between Dr. Susan Block and director Roy Karch who claims Susan Block owed him money through a video deal with Passion Pictures. Brett said no money was owed to Karch. But on to other things relative to the Dawn deal.
Brett: "We've been shooting for two years. I've been getting behind Allison Chaynes. I put her in every movie I do. She signs for me. We have a non-exclusive contract. "The way I met Kiss was through a guy, Zack, who used to work for the Jon Douglas Company. He had bothered me for a year to make an adult movie. He said we could make a movie for $10,000. I said no way, the mafia...all my fears...it's a horrible business, I'm going to get killed...he busted me all year. Finally he said, you want to go to lunch with Ron Jeremy. I said of course. He hooked up a meeting with me, Ron Jeremy and my best friend who's my accountant, a friend of 18 years. We had lunch with Ronny. I was living vicariously through this friend of mine, Zack. He's crazy. He knew this girl Erin who was friends with Kiss. A few days before the shoot I was in Erin's apartment. She was spending the night there because she had gotten into an argument with her husband Jeremy Iron.The next morning she woke up. Two days wound up being a month.
"In October of 1997 she went to Hawaii to dance. She was splitting up with Jeremy. When she came back she was still staying with Susan and Max, the Blocks, when they were up in the Hollywood Hills. She stayed there for a few more months then I asked her to move in. The following summer we took a trip to Europe and I met her whole family. Then we went to Paris and fell in love. Gathering from what was said at the party, it was Christopher who talked Savage, similarly a wrestling fan, into taking another whack at the business. And its paid off in spades for Savage who's getting kudos from all quarters.
Savage, a thinking man's porn star, has a lot on his mind and his would make a stimulating interview. The door was left open for him to give one. Savage, however, said he was particularly hurt because he felt AVN had ignored him in its selection of presenters at the last awards show. One system that's particularly "cruel," according to him, and has to go is the selective reading of nominees at the award show. "If you're going to nominate 15 people, read 15 names," Savage said. "It's devastating for a younger performer not to hear their name called out."
A story that doesn't seem to go away is the one about two on-line companies that have allegedly bilked a number of porn actresses out of thousands of dollars for doing live streaming sex shows. Tabitha Stevens' name had been mentioned as one of the performers. Stevens has been asked about it and she says she has no knowledge of such a situation. However, sources tell us Stevens was, indeed, stiffed for money. At least two other performers are said to be ready to come forth with their stories. One producer has likened the situation to "a Russian slave camp".
The team of Kristen and Devon Sapphire debuted their directorial skills yesterday for a new adult company on-the-block, Knob/Ryder Entertainment Group.
