TEN and IFG Make Deal for Broadcast Rights - hot rats smash

TEN (The Erotic Network) has signed an agreement for exclusive broadcast rights for movies from the Spanish company IFG (International Film Group). The deal was brokered by Josie of Angel Pictures International.

TEN goes out to “73 million addressable households domestically,” Bryan Postlethwait, vice-president of programming and promotions, told AVN.com. IFG broadcasts will be available in English and Spanish language versions, as well as the usual hard and soft cuts. They will be on channels beginning in March.

Postlethwait said that TEN liked the blend of humor and sex that characterizes IFG’s movies. They felt the content’s “unusual takes on sexuality” have an appeal for TEN’s particular demographic.

One of the three initial movies to be broadcast is Hot Rats, the AVN award winner for Best Foreign Feature of 2004. The others are Sexville and the just-released Toxic. (IFG videos are U.S.-distributed by Smash Pictures.)

Angel Pictures will also be entering into a joint venture agreement with TEN for development of a broadcast show starring their contract girl Pamela Sanderson, a Pam Anderson look-alike. Tentative plans are to produce it in May and air it in August.

Postlethwait said TEN has made joint venture agreements with “a select group of studios” to develop programs that are specifically tailored for the broadcast medium.

TEN is a division of Boulder, Colorado-based New Frontier Media, Inc.
