Television Worker Fired for Porn Prank

An employee of Phoenix television station KPPX-TV was fired on Tuesday after allegedly adding a 30-second clip of hardcore pornography into a news broadcast featuring former NBC anchor Tom Brokaw.

According to an Associated Press report, the interruption prompted a flood of calls to media outlets and cable providers. KPPX is owned by Florida-based ION Media networks. Network reps confirmed that the images were only seen in the Phoenix market.

After an investigation, the unnamed worker "was immediately terminated and faces further legal action," spokeswoman Leslie Monreal said in a statement. The network also called the incident "an intolerable act of human sabotage."
