A brother and sister of a family that owns the Palomino strip club here, have been arrested for their alleged involvement in a murder-for-hire plot.
Anabel Espindola and her brother Luis Hidalgo III, whose family owns the club, were arrested for allegedly hiring two gunmen to kill a former club employee, police told KVBC-TV last week.
Police also arrested Deangelo Carroll, 24, and Kenneth Counts, 29, who were said to be the hit men.
On May 19, a man’s body was found lying in the middle of the road near Lake Mead, an apparent victim of road rage, police said. But upon further investigation, police found clues leading to the man’s falling out with club management and his apparent murder.
Las Vegas Police Lt. Tom Monahan said the unnamed victim had worked at the club and was fired after having had some business dealings, resulting in some bad blood between the victim and the Hidalgo family which owned the club.
Monahan said it’s clear that the club owners were responsible for the man’s death.
Police had searched the club and an auto repair shop also owned by the Hidalgo family. But police would not disclose what was found at either location, but noted that the murder weapon remained missing.
One of the alleged hit men also worked at the club and apparently knew that the victim would be at the lake.
