STR Business Media has bought the National Internet Tollfree Directory form Volt Information Sciences, the company announced July 6, in a move thath could set STR as the top publisher of toll-free yellow-page directory advertising.
That's what STR managing director Steve Jackson hopes, anyway. "Advertisers and users can expect the same top quality product and reliability that they received from Volt Information Sciences, Inc.," he said announcing the acquisition. "We intend to continue positioning National Internet Tollfree Directory to meet the increasing demand of businesses and consumers for enhanced information services."
Volt will continue working with STR on the directory as a selling and production agent, STR said. "We are delighted with our new relationship with STR and its benefits to each organization going forward," said Volt senior vice president Robert Epstein.
The directory will still be published across multiple platforms, including print, CD-ROM, and the Internet, STR said, adding that they think the combination will keep helping advertisers and top business decision makers promote their brands and do business cost-effectively.
STR also said they plan to bring forth a number of new advertiser and business-friendly offerings, including an enhanced Internet offering for advertisers and uses, and a business resource guide for both directory and Website.
"Our success is based on the fact that we offer highly effective products to advertisers at a fraction of the cost charged by other national advertising platforms," managing director Ryan C. Allen said at the tollfree directory announcement. "National Internet Tollfree Directory is the solution for advertisers who want more coverage and results at an affordable price, thereby maximizing the return on their advertising dollar."
