Star Behind Bars

Former porn star Kathryn Gannon - known professionally as Marylin Star - has become a star behind bars, while serving a short term in the can for an insider trading scandal that brought down one of Wall Street's more prominent wheeler-dealers in 1999-2000.

"I tried to keep a low profile when I first checked in," the diminutive former adult actress told Inside Edition, which planned to air a segment with her late Tuesday morning, "but everybody knew me and everybody loved me."

Which helped, she said, in dealing with even three months in federal prison, what she got for cashing in on inside tips she got from former investment broker James McDermott and former New Jersey businessman Anthony Pomponio - both former lovers.

The scandal undid Wall Street brokerage Keefe, Bruyette's first initial public offering plans and undid McDermott's successful career as an investment banker, while blasting Gannon back into the limelight, though not quite in the way she might have preferred.

Marylin Star is one of a trio of better-known porn actresses, including Traci Lords and the late Linda Lovelace, who publically renounced the industry.
