People who shrugged off the foreboding weather forecasts and came out for Vivid's inaugural Bike & Hot Rod Night Monday got treated to an evening of intimate shoulder-rubbing with some of adult's most blazing stars.
Held at Harper's Sports Bar & Grille, the event was hosted by Teravision president Tera Patrick, with contract performer Nikki Benz, as well as Club Jenna exclusive/AVN Best New Starlet McKenzie Lee and Vivid Girl Sunny Leone on hand to sign autographs, pose with fans and give away t-shirts, DVDs and other prizes.
Three contests were held throughout the night, for Best Bike, Best Hot Rod and Best Tattoo. In the first category, a latecomer with a red, ape-hanger-fitted Harley Davidson took the prize, walking away with a DVD signed by Tera of her company's newest release, Appetite for Destruction.
Best Hot Rod went to the owner of a powder blue 1965 Cadillac, and his reward was a hand-painted Hot Wheels Caddie autographed by Lee.
The most crowd-stirring competition was that for Best Tattoo, with various contestants showing off their tats for the starlets to judge, evoking plenty of hoots and whistles from onlookers. The winner, a large fellow named Bubba with a giant dragon covering his entire backside, passed his prize, a box of Vivid Condoms, on to his male runner-up, commenting, "Give ’em to him … I don't wear condoms."
Meanwhile, the third finalist, a female Harper's bartender, caught the rapt attention of many observers, including Vivid national sales manager Howard Levine, who commented to AVN.com, "She was smokin' hot. If she'd like a part in Eon McKai's next alt feature, please give me a call. We'd love to have her."
Other highlights of the evening were Leone clearing up the pronunciation of her name for us (let the record show that it is "lee-ohn-EE") and the musical stylings of Joe Walla and the Dangerous Men, who scored a recurring Saturday night gig out of the deal.
"It was a big success, and it would have been an even bigger success if the fucking weather man had given an accurate report," Levine joked, "but we will be doing this again, probably once a month, and the next one will be the first Monday in May, to promote Nikki Benz' Test Drive [her first Teravision release]."
"Next time, we'll have that place packed," Levine promised.
