Smash Adds 4 Directors

Smash Pictures announced it has hired directors Martin Del Toro, Mike Metropolis, Jordan Septo and Bishop on a non-exclusive basis to each direct one title a month.

"I’m excited about this because we have Martin Del Toro doing the harder stuff, Jordan and Bishop doing the black and interracial and Mike doing the teen and white girl projects," said Smash Vice President Stuart Wall.

Del Toro said Thursday he was trying to focus on directing for a select number of companies and that Smash was one of his first choices.

“In the last couple of weeks or months I’ve been trying to reduce the number of companies I work for because I don’t want to do the same mistake many directors do at a certain point, and didn’t want my stuff to be all over the place,” Del Toro said. “I’ve decided only to direct for the best ones, and I chose five companies.

“Basically, I’m happy with Smash. Smash is a good quality company. Certain companies I left because of their directorial stable, because the directors they had were not a strong group. Other companies I left for other reasons. It is important for me to direct for strong teams. That’s why I'm happy to direct for Smash, VCA Excessive and American Hardcore.

“These guys have strong directors and good visions. I’m not a follower, I’m more of a dictator.”

Del Toro’s first Smash video has the working title of Daddy’s Home, which will feature older guys with younger women.

Metropolis has directed over 100 titles in the past two years, primarily for Devil’s Films. He has also previously directed Smash’s Six In Me and Teen Idol 1 and 2. He is working on several projects already for Smash, including Planting Seeds 2, Cheating Housewives 2 and Six In Me 2. Planting Seeds originally was a European line, but Metropolis will bring it to America.

“I’m happy to be directing for Smash. It's a strong company that allows me the creative control to put out movies I’m known for putting out, with hard, nasty sex," Metropolis said. "This is a nice departure having shot for only one company and I get strong support from Stuart."

Septo is known for his work for Venom and Juicy Entertainment, while Bishop is perhaps best-known for his with Seymore Butts on "Family Business." Smash distributed Bishop's Blind Sex Dates last year, and he will begin work on White Wife, Black Cock 7 soon.
