Sllab has announced that Frank Castle has signed on to direct the company’s first hardcore feature, The New Neighbors.
“I’m doing it under threat. ... They made me an offer I couldn’t refuse," Castle said. ". ... No, I'm kidding. I’ve had an idea for a really twisted story set in a suburban neighborhood for a couple of years now, and this company came along at the right time to let me create it.”
Castle, a mainstream horror and action director who has directed stylized gonzo for years, has been looking for a company to give him a chance to do something darker.
“I’m a huge fan of horror and porn, and combining the two is something I’ve always wanted to do, but the time hasn’t been right to pursue that until now," he said. "Lately many companies have been too scared to take a risk on something that the right-wing rule makers might find ‘offensive.' I want to shove their faces in it and have demon gangbangs with nuns in my movies.”
Sllab production coordinator Jay Moyes said, “Frank brought us this really twisted, scary idea that plays on social taboos and psychological horror and we’re giving him freedom to run with it. The first rule for Sllab is that there are no rules. We want to be so out there that no one will ever be able to pin us into a category of porn.”
