Vanessa Wilson has launched Silver Star Models, a talent agency that specializes in girls that are new to the industry.
“All of my girls are non-agency girls. They’ve never been represented by someone else,” Wilson told AVN.com. “I don’t want to use recycled talent. I don’t find it to be beneficial to me or the producers that are hiring my talent. When producers come to my site, they can always find a brand new girl, and 99 percent of them live out of town. They stay with me in a model house while they’re here.
“The main thing that I try to stick to is quality and not quantity. I’d rather have 10 great models than 20 o.k. models.”
Silver Star currently has about 10 girls on its roster, including hot newcomers such as Miko Sinz, Evelyn Lin and Addison Rose, and the more seasoned Jaime Elle, who was originally discovered by Wilson before going to another agency.
“We started it about three months ago and decided to start it just for the fact that I was finding new girls all the time and sending them to other agencies and it wasn’t benefiting me in any way,” said Wilson, who also runs Alicia Silver Productions which produces content for companies such as Combat Zone, Homegrown Video and Playboy’s adult.com properties. “For our clients and the people we shoot for, we offer girls to them first, so they get exclusive content from us.”
Wilson said that Silver Star is growing faster than she anticipated, as most of her girls are working at least three days a week. She recently moved offices and hired a staff to help with the workload, and now she devotes the majority of her time to running the agency while her husband Kenny Brandon directs their productions.
“I have brand new girls who all have great attitudes,” Wilson continued. “We shoot them first and find out what their attitude and their personality is. I know there are people like [LA Direct Models’] Derek [Hay] and [Goldstar Modeling’s] Joel [Lawrence] who have over 100 girls, but we’ve done pretty well for the talent we’ve had.”
The 26-year-old Wilson started out as talent eight years ago, specializing in fetish modeling, both stills and video. She still models occasionally when she has the time, though she said, “I’d much rather do the business side of it.” Because of her background as talent, Wilson said the transition to representing girls has been easier.
“And it was much easier for me as a woman, because these girls can trust me and I can relate to them,” she said. “I really take care of them while they’re here.”
Wilson explained that she will recruit girls any time, anywhere.
“I approach girls at bus stops. Everywhere I go I’m looking for another new girl,” she said, noting that she began communicating with Sinz on a Web cam chat. Meanwhile, a friend of Wilson’s found the 18-year-old Rose working at a Wal-Mart store in Arkansas. Now Rose also helps out in Silver Star's office.
“It’s very important for me to have a good reputation,” Wilson continued. “When people come to the site, they know they’re going to find a quality model for their production.”
