Shane’s World Studios has hired Nicole Snell as their new publicist, replacing former performer/publicist Calli Cox.
Cox has not severed her relationship with Shane’s World entirely, but her decision to move to Orange County created a two-hour commute in both directions that made handling the day-to-day duties of Shane’s World implausible.
Cox may continue to appear at signings or represent Shane’s World as a spokesperson on occasion, and both Cox and Jennie Grant expressed their mutual admiration for each other.
“The way I look at it she’s still part of our company. I wouldn’t say that she’s left - it just wasn’t working for either of us with her being so far from the office,” Grant said.
Cox first worked for Shane’s World Studios on Shane’s World #29, the video that launched the College Invasion series. She was hired soon after as the studio’s full-time publicist.
Cox retired from adult performances last year after her relationship with her boyfriend became serious, but stayed on with Shane’s World as their publicist.
Nicole Snell comes to Shane’s World from Playboy TV, where she worked for three years, starting as an intern and making her way up to assistant production coordinator.
The 23-year-old graduate of Cal State-Long Beach isn’t an adult performer but doesn’t have a problem promoting it.
“It’s cool. It’s interesting learning all of the rules and how things work,”
Snell said. I don’t mind the content – it’s a job and an opportunity to learn at all different levels.”
Snell’s first assignment is to promote the release of College Invasion 3. “It’s revolutionary. We’re doing new stuff. We have college students having sex with porn stars in this one, I think that’s a first,” Snell said.
The College Invasion series and the college invasions for the Shane’s World series that it was spun off from, usually let college students get handjobs or blowjobs from porn stars, but not sex.
Shane’s World had students at the college they “invaded” send photos to their offices if they wanted to have actual sex with porn star. The producers selected suitable candidates and had them get tested by AIM, and from then on it was up to fate.
“There were a number of guys that were tested but only a couple had sex. It was all happenstance, a thing of the moment. They weren’t selected before hand,” Snell said.
Serena South and Cytheria were the porn stars that had sex with the college students. College Invasion 3, released yesterday, also features AVN’s Female Performer of the Year Ashley Blue, Jamie, Becca Bratt, Angelina, Mr. Pete, and Mr. Marcus.
