LOS ANGELES—Adult industry personality and Hollywood “fixer” Kevin Blatt is featured in a new A&E documentary series, Secrets of Celebrity Sex Tapes, premiering tonight, September 8, at 9 CT.
Other adult industry notables who have been tapped for the series include AVN founder Paul Fishbein and AVN Hall of Famers Alexis Texas and celebrity nude website founder Jim McBride, aka Mr. Skin.
Blatt, who is a veteran adult industry promoter, is most notorious for his involvement in exposing Paris Hilton’s 2001 sex tape, 1 Night In Paris, which was distributed by adult production company Red Light District. Hilton’s boyfriend at the time and the tape’s co-star/director, Rick Salomon, shot the video at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, and subsequently hired Blatt to help promote the tape.
The scandal surrounding the tape’s release is arguably what propelled Hilton to the heights of fame, taking her from mere hotel heiress to media superstar. Hilton sued Red Light District’s parent company and Salomon for “invasion of privacy,” claiming the tape had been for personal use only. The lawsuit was settled in 2004, when Salomon agreed to drop a countersuit for defamation and to pay Hilton (with Red Light District) more than $400,000 from revenue generated.
Blatt has also been privy to many of Hollywood’s biggest sex tape scandals, including the infamous Pam and Tommy Lee sex tape, which will be explored in the A&E series.
Another mammoth sex tape in which Blatt was involved, Kim Kardashian’s—featuring the not-yet-a-reality star with her then-boyfriend, rapper Ray J—was eventually released by Vivid Entertainment in 2007 under the title Kim Kardashian Superstar. Kardashian, once the assistant of Hilton, was able to generate a scandal that enabled her to ascend to the pinnacle of reality TV fame and establish a family dynasty.
“All I can is ‘HOLY SHIT,’” Blatt said on his Facebook page. “This doc series is absolutely incredible. It’s the most comprehensive and true story about Celebrity Sex Tapes and features so many incredible people in it! (Besides me lol).”
The series will feature episodes focused on Kardashian, Pamela Anderson, Colin Farrell, Farrah Abraham, Katie Hill, Mimi Faust and Dustin Diamond.
