Senators Orrin Hatch of Utah and Sam Brownback of Kansas, who are both Republican members of the Senate Judiciary Committee, co-wrote an editorial that ran in today’s Washington Times that criticizes the Extreme Associates decision that came down on Jan. 20.
Hatch and Brownback called it a case of “judicial activism,” and said that the dismissal showed that “bad judges make bad law.” They went even further in describing U.S. District Judge Gary Lancaster’s “bizarre conclusion” as “a Frankenstein’s monster of judicial activism.”
They suggested that Judge Lancaster “ignored the law in favor of his own agenda.”
