Officially, the 2004 Fans Of X-rated Entertainment (FOXE) awards show was to let fans honor their favorite performers, culminating with a “broast,” a roast without the insults, in honor of Golden Age porn legend Seka. Unofficially, it was a loosely scripted, light spirited gathering of a few industry pioneers who remember the days when porn was outlaw and gargling cum was extreme.

At the height of the show, the crowd of nearly 300 comfortably filled the hall of the Mayflower Ballroom in Inglewood, California. Gone are the days when FOXE blew out the doors on the Mayan Theater in downtown LA. These days, the show is more of a private event with the atmosphere of a large family reunion.
Among the first stars to arrive to the show was Seka with an entourage of about 20 friends, fans and family all dressed in matching purple Seka t-shirts. And while the press photographers moved like a pack of locusts from Teri Weigel to Mary Carey and then on to the next female ready to show some skin, Seka politely fought them off asking for “just five more minutes.” Her name is literally synonymous with porn, but she made it clear in just a few words that today she is a private person.
The awards show opened with a flag-waving, fire-spewing striptease by Tina Toy, followed by the first of three awards given that night. Bill Margold, FOXE founder and host of the show, presented Kick Ass Pictures contract performer Mary Carey with the 2004 FOXE Vixen award.
Tera Patrick won for Favorite Female Performer, but was unable to attend.
A number of female performers took the stage to gather around Lexington Steele when he was given the Favorite Male Performer award. .
But the party really seemed to start when Pandora Dream woke the sleepy crowd with a PG-13 rated dance number proving that the most important part of a striptease is the tease.
Margold then introduced the “filet mignon of porn,” as he likes to call Seka, inviting her to take a seat on stage in a throne-like chair. One by one, Seka’s industry peers and fans took the microphone to honor her with gifts and kind words. Margold and Teri Weigel read two admittedly Dr. Seuss-style poems written by them and Ron Jeremy (who wasn’t able to attend). The poems told the story of Seka sucking and fucking her way to the top.
One fan presented Seka with a metal film canister filled with bon-bons. A member of Seka’s entourage took the stage and broke the broast’s no-insult rule going into 10-minutes of one-liners about Seka’s backwoods Virginia upbringing — “where a husband and wife can get divorced and still remain brother and sister.”
And while Seka could do little to successfully shy away from all the attention, nobody made her blush quite like Margold. He reminisced about Seka’s imaginative talents, particularly her enthusiasm for the cumshot. In one instance, Seka gargled Margold’s spunk and spit it into Jennifer West’s mouth. “The character I played in the movie was shy and was supposed to be impressed,” Margold said. “But I was always impressed.”
Lennox closed the show giving Seka a lap dance.
