SecureMac is pleased to announce the latest version of anti-spyware software MacScan 2.3 for Macintosh computers.
“We’re excited about the release of MacScan 2.3, which was demonstrated at MacWorld San Francisco,” said Nicholas Raba, president of SecureMac.
MacScan Version 2.3 adds new features. “Mac users can detect, isolate, and remove spyware from their computers, as well as check for blacklisted cookies,” Raba said. “Users can now remove over 8,000 known cookies for adware and malware with a single click—and without losing any of their saved cookies. The cookie blacklist definitions, like the spyware definitions, come in easy-to-download updates.”
Raba explained that version 2.3 also adds file-cleaning support for additional browsers. The MacScan team has localized the software for other languages. As of version 2.3, MacScan comes with U.S. English and Korean localizations.
Upgrades from previous versions of MacScan 2 are free and can be obtained via the website by either selecting “Upgrade MacScan” under the MacScan menu or downloading the demo version and entering your existing version’s serial number.
Raba noted that MacScan quickly detects, isolates, and removes spyware from Macintosh computers using both real-time spyware-definition updating and unique detection methods. The software also manages Internet-related clutter on a computer. It is designed for Mac OSX version 10.2.4 and later.
