While unwitting amateur porn star Paris Hilton’s reality series The Simple Life, is on it’s way to being a hit, a genuine porn legend is hoping his will be just as successful.
AVN Hall of Famer Ron Jeremy joined Vanilla Ice, Erik Estrada, Traci Bingham, Real World Las Vegas cast member Trishelle. and televangelist Tammy Faye Messner for the appropriately named WB reality show Surreal Life 2. The unlikely cast lived together in a mansion, while camera’s captured the sparks as a porn and a televangelist cohabitated.
And as with any house where Jeremy resides, there were plenty of porn stars around. Well, when Tammy Faye wasn’t around.
“We had big BBQ while Tammy Faye was at a book signing. Jacklyn Lick, Tabitha Stevens, Tiffany Stevens, Lisa Sparxxx, Dennis Hof and Sunset Thomas all came over. Dennis brought some of the Bunny Ranch girls down,” Jeremy said.
Jeremy had mainstream celebrities drop by the mansion as well.
“I had Andy Dick come over and Rick James came over as well. Vanilla Ice wanted to meet him and when I mentioned I knew him he asked me to call him over,” the Hedgehog added. “I tried to get Slash to come over – Vanilla Ice really wanted him to sign his guitar, but Slash just couldn’t make it.”
And Jeremy reports that Tammy Faye, a woman who consorts with those who try to have Jeremy’s profession shut down, was surprisingly open minded.
“We were doing this mock Sally Jesse Raphael show, with Sally at the mansion. Sally brought up that up that to her and asked her what she thought of me. She said ‘He’s a great guy and he plays a pretty good piano.’”
And what did Jeremy think of her?
“I really like her a lot. She’s actually a believer in free speech. And you know she does this show, where she sings and she tells jokes at churches. Do you know who that her audience is ninety-five percent gay?
“I even told a joke about her. We were working on some melons one day and I look at her and say ‘For an evangelist you have pretty nice melons yourself,’ and Erik Estrada said ‘Oh, Ron,’” Jeremy said.
The Surreal Life 2 will debut on January 11, the day after the AVN Awards.
But even the television show won't be portray the surreal quality of Jeremey's life as well as the photo accompanying this story does. To his left is his reality show competition Paris Hilton - the night she took the Hedgehog into the women's restroom along with Bijou Philips and asked to see his penis. Maybe one day she'll enter porn for real.
