Ron Jeremy stars in a new mainstream horror movie called Andre the Butcher, which will be released on DVD on Tuesday.
The feature, produced by Tapis Entertainment and Rice Power Productions, combines both humor and terror when a small group of "decadent cheerleaders" gets stranded on their way to the regional championships. After hiking through the wilderness, the group finds refuge in an abandoned hunting lodge hidden in the backwoods of Florida. Meanwhile, a duo of bumbling escaped convicts stumbles upon the lodge and takes the cheerleaders hostage.
But when darkness falls, a new terror comes along in the form of local urban legend Andre the Butcher (Jeremy). Unlikely alliances are formed in their fight for survival in what the filmmakers call "a searing, all-out butcher blades meets pom-poms, gymnastics martial arts extravaganza" - with a surprise ending.
In promoting the movie, Jeremy recently was featured in the horror industry magazine, Fangoria.
"I get my arms shot off in the film," Jeremy said. "I've heard great things about it. It got picked up by Think Films, which is a division of Lion's Gate."
