ANB Magazine was on the scene at Book Soup on Thursday where adult industry veteran, Ron Jeremy, made a stop as part of his nationwide promotional tour of his autobiography: Ron Jeremy: The Hardest (Working) Man in Show Business.
A crowd of about fifty gathered for a chance to listen to Jeremy, who addressed the audience for about half an hour before taking questions from the audience. The audience consisted of a variety of people, young and old, male and female, both local and from out of state.
"I came down to meet Ron after my boyfriend told me about it," stated Kristina Lash, a young girl visiting on an assignment from her college in Virginia Beach. "He wants me to get an autograph for him, but I think I need one for myself!" she beamed with a smile.
During his informal lecture, Jeremy divulged highlights from his tell-all memoir and kept the audience laughing with tales such as how Lloyd Kaufman, President and Co-founder of Troma Entertainment (known for their B-movie horror films) got his start working on adult film shoots.
Jeremy has appeared in several Troma films and noted that his own families' acceptance of his career choice was aided by appearances in these films as well as his other TV show and music video cameos. Two rabid Troma fans seated in the second row asked multiple questions about specific Troma movies and a surprised Jeremy, responded several times, "Wow, you know that movie too?"
Jeremy also mentioned how happy he was to be named number one of the top fifty porn stars of all time by AVN Magazine in 2002 and shared how he and Jenna Jameson periodically tease one another back and forth when they see each other. Most recently was at a Mardi Gras party held at the Playboy mansion, where he admitted to Jameson "the only thing I asked of Harper Collins (the Publisher of both Jameson & Jeremy's autobiographies) when they asked me to do this book, was that it outsell yours."
In light of recent rumors spreading about who will play Jameson in the movie version of her autobiography; Jeremy was asked who he would choose to play him. "Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise of course," Jeremy responded with a chuckle.
A busy man who's down to earth and personable to his fans, Jeremy delighted the attendees by spending a few minutes with each and signing copies of his autobiography. Jeremy stated he was off to Mexico at 4 a.m. to do the Sex and Entertainment Expo and would immediately be flying from there to meet up for more debates with the guys from XXX Church.
"I haven't been home in a couple of weeks," Jeremy stated. "I can't wait to have a chance to see my Tortoise Cherry."
