Strip club operator Rick’s Cabaret International reported a 67.2 percent sales increase in April compared to the same month last year.
The publicly-traded company said in a press release that nightclub sales for April were $1.9 million compared to $1.1 million in April 2005. Same store sales in April were $1.4 million compared to $1.1 million a year earlier.
“We are comfortable with the continuing growth of our sales on a year-over-year basis and look forward to maintaining this momentum as we move through the year,” said Eric Langan, the company’s president and CEO.
Rick’s is scheduled to issue its second quarter financial results on May 15.
At noon Eastern Standard Time today, the stock was slightly down at $7.32 a share. The stock’s 52-week high is $7.49, reached Thursday and its 52-week low is $2.55, reached on June 16.
Rick’s Cabaret operates five strip clubs under the Rick’s Cabaret name, including one in New York, and four others under the XTC name in Texas. It also operates Club Onyx and the Hummers’ Sports Bar & Grill, both located in Houston.
