Red Light, Platinum X Return from Mix Show Summit

Red Light District and Platinum X Pictures raised their profiles within the music industry tenfold over the weekend, completing a successful co-promotion with Interscope Records at the seventh annual Mix Show Power Summit in Fremont, The Bahamas.

The companies took 19 girls from LA Direct Models on the trip to the Grand Fremont Hotel for three days of partying and promoting the brands. The Mix Show Power Summit annually attracts the premier deal-makers and talent in hip-hop.

Interscope is the heavyweight record label that works with dozens of platinum-selling artists, including 50 Cent and Eminem.

“We met virtually all of our goals from a marketing standpoint and what we wanted to do with Interscope,” said Larry Schwarz, director of public relations for Red Light and Platinum X. “LA Direct cooperated with us and worked hard in getting this accomplished and we do appreciate that.”

Schwarz said the girls mixed with numerous hip-hop celebrities during the Summit, and even attended the awards show on Saturday night. Afterward, they were introduced during a “celebrity DJ fight,” a mix-off that took place inside a boxing ring. Later, they joined the awards show after-party, where Red Light and Platinum X movies and trailers played on five plasma-screen TVs.

Schwarz said the girls met Busta Rhymes, Ludacris, Common and Kanye West, among others.

“We had some girls attend the awards show on Saturday night and MTV was there, so we hope some of that makes it on MTV,” Schwarz said.

During the “DJ Fight,” half the girls wore Red Light outfits, and the other half were attired in Platinum X gear.

“They did a walk through crowd with high-security, but everybody conducted themselves very well,” said Schwarz, who was accompanied by his wife Debbie for the weekend.

“…Everything we intended to do we were able to do. And we hope to do more as various DJs want to have visitors on their radio stations. We will attend those radio stations wherever they may be, and we’ll be providing DJs with samples of our product to look at just like reviewers do. We’ll also continue our association with Interscope on their worldwide and national tours from the standpoint of providing movies they can play for their private parties, as well as having banners up to promote the companies throughout the hip-hop community.”

Schwarz added, “We want to thank all the girls who went, and LA Direct. We’re very happy from a business standpoint.”
