In the industry’s latest effort in the battle against bootleggers, both Platinum X Productions and Red Light District will begin embossing the insides of their DVD cases with the companies’ logos later this month.
Platinum X will debut their new embossed cases July 26 with Little Girls. Red Light will follow the next day with Anal Expedition 7.
Last September Red Light President David Joseph announced the company was offering $100,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons bootlegging the 1 Night in Paris DVD.
Earlier this year, both companies took the step of making their DVDs red as a mark of authenticity.
The case imprints are intended to stay one step ahead of bootleggers. Last year Joseph told AVN.com that he suspected official sales of 1 Night in Paris (then estimated at 400,000 copies) may have actually been outsold by pirated versions.
