Red Light District announced Friday that it has promoted Ralph Ceglia from sales to general manager.
Ceglia, a friend of Red Light owner David Joseph’s for the past 15 years, has worked for the company for the past year and a half.
“He’s been fantastic, tremendous,” Joseph said Friday. “He’s going to handle just about all the day-to-day activities and give me a little time so I can breathe a little bit. I’ll delegate whatever I can to him. He and I think so much alike that it’s amazing. The best thing about it is he can be the ‘no’ guy. I have a hard time saying ‘no.’ I always say ‘yes.’ He can say ‘no’ in a nice way. But he really proved himself and really worked hard.”
Ceglia will still be overseeing the sales department.
“It’s a huge honor for me to be given this position,” Ceglia said. “I’m pretty much new to the industry, but I love this industry and I really love my job. Working with David has been unbelievable.”
Ceglia, a native of Oyster Bay in Long Island, N.Y., formerly was president of Marathon Truck Bodies, one of the largest box van companies in the country that is based in the Santa Clarity Valley of California.
“The timing was right and it just all worked out,” Joseph said. “He’s always been there for me. They say you never should hire friends or family, but I’m glad I didn’t listen to that one.”
