Red Light District Launches The Candy Shop

Red Light District has announced its launch of a new ethnic company called The Candy Shop.

"It brings a whole new line and an exciting dimension to RLD Distribution," said Ralph Ceglia, general manager for Red Light.

The Candy Shop will release all black and interracial titles and feature directors Juan Cuba and Diana DeVoe. The company will be headed up by performer and director, Michael Stefano.

The Candy Shop's first release, scheduled for August 7, will be Alone In The Dark, directed by Cuba, featuring all interracial gangbangs. The title stars Sierra Sinn, Alexa Lynn and Hillary Scott.

The company’s next releases include: Double-Dipped Chocolate Honies, directed by DeVoe and releasing Aug. 14; Ba Dunk A Bounce; helmed by Cuba and coming out Aug. 21; and DeVoe's Chocolate Ass Candy on Aug. 28.

"Juan Cuba has been a long-time porn fan [and later] he proved he would be a great pornographer," Stefano said. "He's ambitious and really into what he does, already having directed movies for RLD, [Platinum X], and others and receiving high marks for his work."

Stefano continued, "I have known and worked with Diana DeVoe for many years. Being a fan of her movies, I am very impressed to see a female director who also shoots camera and personally handles all other phases of shooting porn. Technically, and in [terms of] directing the action, she is terrific, and in my opinion, is destined to become one of the very best known and well-respected female directors ever."

Corresponding with the launch of The Candy Shop, there will be a marketing website and a member pay site. An announcement of those launches will come out closer to August.

"I think it's going to be good," Stefano told AVN.com. "It's going to keep me busy. I'm into the black girls and even bigger than that, I'm actually going to stop performing pretty soon and just be in my own titles. I'm just getting tired. I'm making the transition and this is perfect timing. Now I get to be on the other end of it, but I'll still be making one movie a month for Red Light. This is a good challenge and I'm very happy with it."
