Radio Station Switches from Sermons to Sex

Fresno-based KFYE-FM was known for its Christian music, church sermons and bible stories.

But last week, all that changed.

The station, which was sold about a month ago to a new owner, now calls itself “Porn Radio,” with a slogan of “all sex radio, all the time,” according to The Fresno Bee.

It features a music play list that ranges from rhythm and blues to pop as long as it contains sexual references. The songs include Marvin Gaye’s “Sexual Healing,” and The Beatles’ “Why Don’t We Do it in The Road.”

Veteran local radio personality Ed Beckman said the format is not suitable for an on-air radio station, but for satellite radio like Sirius or XM.

But its new owner Jerry Clifton said the station will not cross the line and butt heads with the Federal Communications Commission. But he added that that the station could soon switch to a traditional format.
