Pure Taboo Wraps ‘The Doctrine,’ Helmed by Seth Gamble

MONTREAL—Pure Taboo has officially wrapped production on its upcoming original feature film The Doctrine, a post-apocalyptic drama helmed by director-performer Seth Gamble.

“Blending psychological tension, emotional conflict and morally complex storytelling, the feature marks one of the studio’s most ambitious cinematic projects to date,” a studio rep said.

Set three years after the collapse of civilization, The Doctrine follows four brothers who “operate the last secure compound for miles—a heavily fortified refuge stocked with power, food and medicine. Bound by a philosophy inherited from their father, the brothers believe humanity’s future depends on carefully rebuilding the next generation. When a group of women arrives seeking safety, they are welcomed into the compound under one condition: survival comes with expectations, and each newcomer must decide whether protection is worth accepting the role the brothers believe destiny has assigned them,” a company description reads. With the tagline “Survival is submission,” the movie explores themes of control, vulnerability, loyalty and human connection in a world where traditional morality has fractured under the pressure of survival.

The Doctrine is one of the films I’m most proud of as a director,” said Gamble. “What drew me to this story was how deeply human it feels beneath the apocalyptic setting—every character is fighting to survive while trying to hold onto who they are. The cast and crew brought an incredible level of honesty, intensity and emotional depth to every scene, and together we created something far bigger than I could have imagined. I can’t wait for audiences to experience it.”

The Doctrine continues Pure Taboo’s commitment to elevated, narrative-focused filmmaking and further cements Seth Gamble’s reputation for creating cinematic stories that challenge audiences while delivering intense emotional impact,” the rep added.

The movie is expected to premiere later this year exclusively on PureTaboo.com and on the AdultTime.com streaming network.
